Playing the NES at my babysitter's house with my childhood friends. Also, playing outside with them during the summer (riding bikes, playing cops and robbers, hide and seek, basketball, skating, etc). Our babysitter wouldn't let us stay cooped up inside all day. Looking back, I'm really grateful for that.

I have a collection of memories from before I came to the United States. I was in the age range of 2-3 yrs old. They are more like a dream of a time and place long gone than memories.

My mom used to take me out to play a lot and we lived near a seawall and an old airfield/hangers. She would take me out to this old crashed lone airplane on the airfield and when I would approach it, because I was smaller, the tall grass seemed to frame the airplane and area it was in. It was like walking into a haven. Then when I would finally get to it I would jump straight into the side hatch and move up to the pilots seat. Picking and pulling at different things pretending to fly. It's hard to realize the difference in imagination from then to now.

Then other days we would take a trip up and down the seawall. There are large stones that line the beach side of the wall but to me they were like monolithic slabs. I would jump across them, leaping from one to another. I can remember hiding between some but after revisiting the area recently I think my memory was exaggerating things a bit.

It was good times.

Summing it up, that I was alive. Despite everything, I was grateful for it. lol Pretty simple and to the point for a young kid.

When I was in elementary school I went to a Science Center and it had a IMAX theater. I mean I was in awe from how big it was. I never went back since then and I want to.

Deep sea fishing with my dad at about 13 or so years old. Man I never caught so much fish in an hour in my life. They park it right on top of a school of fish. There was people catching stingrays, small sharks, mackerel, other random assorted fish. It was the best fishing I ever experienced. I want to do it again some day.

I have too many... most of them are with my childhood friend. We did lots of things together like walk to the liquior store to buy yugioh cards, eat junk food and watch movies in a tent, made a lemonade stand, tie dyed t-shirts, play video games, and just hung out at each other's homes. Well to be honest I treated him like crap when we were kids... but I liked the fun moments we had together, heh heh.

I have a couple, one that stands out is when I got my first basket in basketball. My dad was so excited he took me out to celebrate, I don't think we even won that game but it was still one of those moments when you just feel so proud of yourself. Another is more of a series of memories, my dad served in the military and because of this he was gone a lot. Getting letters, postcards, or even trinkets from him would make it so much better. I still have everything he ever sent me tucked away in a special place and it was those things that even though I hadn't seen him in months reminded me he still cared.

I don't have just one. But I will say that meeting a couple of friends are the best things I remember.
