I saw a forum post on people interested in the medical field and thought why not make one for us engineers out here on CR? Engineering is a huge field and everyone screams about how their branch is harder than others.
I want to know which field you think is the best and why. Also if any of you are an engineer or about to become one, how about giving us some heads up on what to expect? Should we specialize in a field after our BS or just go work?
I myself am getting my BS in mech engineering and can't choose if I want to go into aerospace or mechatronics for MS.

What're your thoughts?

Still a Highschool student here. My dream is to become a computer engineer or an electrical one. Engineering will help get the $ to be an 0taku L0L. specifically money to be a buyfag

They're sort of similar, if you want you can take them both with one as a minor ;)
But as far as I know electrical relies alot on math

Heyyyy! I'm a sophomore! Talk about it. For every Physics class you need two math classes -.-

I'm working on a degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Signaling and Communications. The ways devices communicate with each other, both internally and externally, fascinates me for some inexplicable reason.

Any engineering requires a lot of math actually. Expect to need Calc IV and a Linear Algebra and/or a Differential Equation class at least. Anyway, engineering is a great field if you have the ability. Just be warned that engineering is the hardest discipline at a university, with generally the highest failure rate too, so be prepared.

Im still in high school but im going to major in either aerospace, environmental, or chemical engineering. I have a passion for space and the environment and a lot of people tell me I should study chemical engineering.

I'm a little interested in seeing what engineering is like. I've heard it's a really tough major that requires a lot of math and physics classes, but fortunately I'm fairly good at those subjects.

I think my interest in engineering is largely due to the fact that I play as an Engineer in TF2.

Im in high school still but ive planned on becoming an Aerospace Engineer. Space has always been a goal of mine to reach, aerospace engineering is a step towards that. If I'm accepted I'll try to be a Mission Specialist afterwards! lol
