I wanted to like .hack but found it hard to get into it where as i loved sword art from start to finish it was a great anime.

When I first saw Sword Art Online, I wondered if it was a story that was pitched for the .hack//Sign series that got rejected. I did find the show easier to get into than .hack//sign.

One of the biggest problems I had with .hack//Sign is I always felt like I was only getting 1/2 the story since I wasn't playing the video game that came out about the same time as the show.

Voted .Hack because im such a nerd for that Bandai series

Sign was alright they did the game world better, and just had more of an adult theme to it.. The action was nice (The little action there was)

SAO was a 12 episode flop, chasing after some chick he met online! THE ONLY STORY WE SHOULD AVOID!

If you liked Sign, You people really have to give .Hack//Roots a try! I loved the anime for that, Amazing soundtrack (KING KNIGHT!)

I mean check dis song out how can you say now

I preferred the game experience of .hack series on the ps2 more than the anime,

I thought SAO though short as it was, was better for the one idea that if you unplugged them from the game they died, they didn't go into a coma. the plot was just more believable

I voted Sword Art Online, but to be honest I haven't seen .Hack//Sign yet. I do think SAO was an awesome anime though.

Tell me if it was a 'flop' then how was it (and still is) one of the more popular animes on here? Also, there is more then 12 episodes so please get your facts straight.

I watched .hack//sign so many times in my youth. I loved the idea behind it all too back then. I first watched SAO because of how it reminded me of my love for the .hack series (though it stood on its own and I love it too).

I voted .hack//sign just because it is a show that I don't remember having too many points where it felt like fillers. I must have watched it at least 7 times and I don't remember a point where I was bored. There may have been stale episodes, but the joy of it is that despite how often I watched it I can't remember it. I watched SAO perhaps twice and the boring episodes were extremely boring the second time. I STILL LOVE BOTH THOUGH ^___^!

Ugh, i'm never on these forums but before you tell someone to "get your facts straight " maybe you should get your facts straight first.
There is a italic feature for a reason; you said : Tell me if it was a 'flop'
When it actually is : Tell me if it was a flop.

I am serious, people like you make me doubt the future generations!

If that is you in your profile picture then that just makes it worse... at your age you should already know about how to use your punctuation correctly.

You are using the quotation marks "wrong". People seem to use the quotation marks wrong "everywhere" these days—like in this sentence! To stay on the safe side, quotation marks should really only be used to show that you've stolen the words of someone else.

Quotation marks are not valid substitutes for italics and should not be used as such.
To you and me, it's Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, NOT "Romeo and Juliet".

I enjoyed both, but related more to SAO then .hack. Like others have said though, it is possible that I would have enjoyed .hack more if I had played the games along with the series.
