I've been cosplaying since ninth grade and I'm 24 now! I absolutely love it, especially when I've done well enough that people ask for my picture. It's such a confidence booster. My costumes are never absolutely perfect and sometimes they don't fit quiiiiite right because I didn't have the time to finish it That said, to everyone that's going to say "I can't cosplay cause I'll look silly" you are completely wrong. So long as you love the character you're dressing up as and buy or make your costume as best you can, cosplaying is pretty fun! And group cosplaying is so awesome too! You meet a lot of awesome people that way. One time, I designed a human form chocobo and I wanted a picture of me sitting on a Cloud cosplayer because of how Cloud's called chocobo-head sometimes in fanfics. A yuffie cosplayer heard me, flagged down a Cloud and the guy gave me a piggy back ride!

Its awesome as long as fat people don't do it.

Actually I've seen a really awesome Hinata and a freakin' amazing Brandon Heat from Gungrave and Shiva from FFX. AND I know two cosplayers that've done a variety of cosplays and they're BOTH heavy set.

I've never done it or seen a cosplayer in person. It looks fun though and hey if someone enjoys it I'm all for it. I still can't get over how realistic that girl who cosplayed as Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite looked. She even got hired by Irrational games lol.

I have never done it myself, but I think it's very interesting. I love to see how creative some people can get with cosplay. My goal is to feel comfortably enough to try it out one day. I think I'm a little hesitant because I have darker skin, so I know that I probably won't make a very good cosplayer.

My favorite character to cosplay is your avi! Hotaru is my favorite ever, I even had his sandals and sword custom made and even though most pepole don't know who I'm cosplaying they still want my picture. Plus my bf cosplays Shinrei and we have lots of fun when we go to cons.
Anyway, just had to say hi, since I saw you have Hotaru as your avi and most people have know idea who he is. Btw, I use to us that same pic as my avi, it's so cute!

I like cosplay and would love to cosplay for AX this year, but i simply dont have the time and lack the ability to really make most costumes. If i were to cosplay, it would have to be a very well done costume, which is very time consuming. I am of the belief that if you are going to cosplay you have to do it well, and wear the whole costume. For example, a yellow helmet and a black track suit is not really cosplaying Celty from DRRR.

I really like cosplay, it's like art, it's cool to see the effort people put into it and how cool their work turns out If I cosplay which I probably will eventually I'll buy a pre made one, I have little skills when it comes to sewing and such.

Hi!! I've actually cosplayed Hotaru at AWA! Made the whole costume and his sword was actually one of the first ones I ever made! Kyo's was the other first that I made with a friend of mine and we learned really quickly not to use red oak and always have safety glasses on when making props! Got a piece of wood in my eye and had to go to the ER to get it out but it was awesome! I usually cosplay with my best friend and we've had a blast at cons! Good to meet a fellow Hotaru fan!

I want to try it at least once... But I don't have anyone to cosplay with. I want to do the death the kid and his sister weapons. I wanna be the little sister...

This!!

It really does help boost your confidence whenever the compliments start coming in and people ask for your picture. I honestly think anyone can cosplay. The whole point is just to have fun. :P
