I've never seen someone cosplay in rl and not that much elsewhere. After i watch an anime, that's it. I forget about it.

I think cosplay is really cool. It is amazing what some people can make and the amount of detail they can put into it. Always wanted to try it out myself, but I could never pull it off... except maybe Jigen from Lupin III (I refuse to shave my awesome facial hair lol).

So you are the real batman

If I told you the answer I might have to lock you up in Arkham.

I don't think cosplaying is for me, I tried it a few times but always felt uncomfortable. Last year I went as Secret Police Miku and for some reason..felt out of place. I quickly switched into my Lolita and felt better. Plus I get a lot more pictures taken of me and a lot more compliments in Lolita than I ever did when I cosplayed.

Plus I rather spend the money on Lolita than on cosplay.

I've been cosplaying since ninth grade and I'm 24 now! I absolutely love it, especially when I've done well enough that people ask for my picture. It's such a confidence booster. My costumes are never absolutely perfect and sometimes they don't fit quiiiiite right because I didn't have the time to finish it That said, to everyone that's going to say "I can't cosplay cause I'll look silly" you are completely wrong. So long as you love the character you're dressing up as and buy or make your costume as best you can, cosplaying is pretty fun! And group cosplaying is so awesome too! You meet a lot of awesome people that way. One time, I designed a human form chocobo and I wanted a picture of me sitting on a Cloud cosplayer because of how Cloud's called chocobo-head sometimes in fanfics. A yuffie cosplayer heard me, flagged down a Cloud and the guy gave me a piggy back ride!

This!!

It really does help boost your confidence whenever the compliments start coming in and people ask for your picture. I honestly think anyone can cosplay. The whole point is just to have fun. :P

It totally is! A friend and I cosplayed Princes Tutu and Princes Claire and we couldn't eat lunch without getting our picture taken. And my Claire costume was horrible! It's so awesome when you get a reaction like that!

I'm actually the exact opposite. I don't feel right when wearing lolita. XD I've only tried it once though so maybe I'll try again. I think it's really cute and I wish I could pull it off. Your outfit is cute btw.

No negative opinion. Quite the opposite in fact. I plead the 5th to protect the innocent. (Evil Grin)

In short if you're remotely good, go ahead, but PLEASE don't use a character you look NOTHING LIKE and I HATE shitty costumes...

It looks potentially fun. However, my own perfectionism would prevent me from doing it most likely as I lack skill to make a decent costume, the willingness to spend enough money to buy a good costume, and sufficient resemblance to any character I might choose to cosplay. (My wife, though, might make a decent Holo or Hatsune Miku with the proper wig or hair extensions! She'd outright refuse to dress up like that, though!) As for others' cosplay, bad quality doesn't bother me particularly in principle. It's just fun, after all, as far as I'm concerned. However, if you do a particularly shoddy job of it, you frankly shouldn't be surprised if you attract the wrong sort of stares and whispered (or even audible) comments. Dressing up in public is to invite opinions.
