What do you think of cosplay?

I wish most cosplay looked good, but it's mostly these kind of folks:

And homestuck tards.

Seriously, I worked a booth at a major convention...Fatties and homestuckers as far as the eye can see. Seriously, WTF happened to people having "taste".

I never have. I've been saving recently for a prototype leather jacket though cause they just look badass. Maybe after 2 more paychecks. I won't be able to make the sword arm though, I've never made anything like that anyway.

Cosplay itself is pretty cool though, its kinda like Halloween only with anime/comic characters/etc...

That's your fault for living up in Jacksonville. :P

There are plenty of great cosplayers down here in South Florida.

We have a bunch of awesome cosplayers that I know around my area, but I am referring to the vast majority of horrible cosplay at cons.
Either the "190LBS too heavy for character" or the "Purposefully shitty gag cosplay" or just "homestuck tards". Like I've said, I worked a booth at Megacon and saw a lot of good, but more often than not, a lot of bad.

I like seeing the bad cosplayers. If everyone looked amazing it would be pretty dull.

I mean, come on this is friggan hilariously bad:

Yeah, I have the same problem sadly. Some of my friends like to watch anime and never do any cosplay. We live in the east coast and there's no such anime expo or anything like that here at all.

I love it. It's fun to do, it's as challenging as you want to make it (go with purchased costumes, do your own research down to the tiniest details to recreate what you're after, or anywhere in between), and you can meet some great people and make good friends.

It's doubly fun if you go to a voice actor's panel and the voice of the character you're cosplaying is there - sometimes they'll even ask you for a picture.

Yeah, that's another problem. Some anime expos aren't near where you live so you have to travel further to get to them.

My uncle decided to cosplay one year for Otakon. It was like thirteen years ago. I can not remember who he was, and I have no pictures of the costume. All I have is one picture of him with his hair dyed. I always thought this was a hilarious picture.

True, it's too expensive to get to there and my friends couldn't able to make it.

Since we live in the east coast where not many of them are anime fans but I found some pictures from one of my friends on Facebook (the man with a bow):

I know those pictures are non-anime but I was shocked by how beautiful those cosplay are. I am kinda jealous. XD
