I'm a short guy. I'm 5'5". Sometimes there's that girl your interested in who's taller than you. Guys and girls, give me your input on this matter. If the guy is shorter than the girl, is that a negative? Will that sometimes prevent a relationship from happening?

I don't see the problem with it. Unless she like a foot taller than you, that's just kinda weird.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

Not that I'm a female.

my wife is clearly 3 inches taller than me, i'm 5'7... but we're in our 30s, my HO, height it doesn't matter after awhile

when i was younger, it bothered me that i was too short, but that negative showed up in my personality... once i got older, i stopped paying attention to height so that chip on my shoulder eventually fell off, and my true personality beamed

It happens all the time, so it shouldn't be a big deal. If either the man or woman is insecure about their height and/or makes a big deal regarding the stature of potential partners, that their prerogative. It's really just double-standards and idealism that transforms the height of either gender into an issue. If your height bugs you enough, you can always simply move to a country in the Eastern Hemisphere, where 5'5'' is pretty normal for men. In actuality, you're not short. You're just surrounded by tall people.

Edit: By the way, I'm 5'2". There are a few girls that I went to school with who didn't even hit 5' by the time they graduated from high school. Conversely, there was a boy who was about 7'.

I never understand why some women prefer to exculsively date men that are above 6ft. The average adult male is only 5'6". Theyre missing out on a lot of guys...

It only matters if you make it an issue.

I'm 5'9'' and wouldn't mind being with someone taller than me. It shouldn't really matter. If you like someone, go for it.

Just to clarify my understanding. You think being 6ft is gross or dating shorter guys is gross? Because a lot of female models are 6' tall and I don't find tall women gross unless they have muscle tone like Biske from HxH.

It's not that big of a deal unless the difference is really great....say.....maybe like a foot or more. That's my limit, anyway.

You don't need other people to validate your relationship, the only thing that's going to prevent a relationship is the girl being uninterested.
