Its hard to know without really being in the actual situation, incorporating all the fear that would go with it.

Because I am not such a brave person, I would say Kill

I would like to say otherwise, but I don't trust myself to follow through with that 100%

In summary, I don't know

Death kills me. I kill people and animals by littering. I kill and get kill. Fair enough, I'd say.

I'd say Red.
Just think about, having someone else chose your fate
would suck, not to mention who it could be.

Why would you want to kill a person?

What kind of logic says to press red? If both people press blue, then you both survive... Why should you think the other person is going to press red? If there's some kind of monetary reward for pressing red, then there's an issue, but you're just trusting another person to choose not to murder you.
If you were in a room with someone that had a gun, would you shoot them just in case they decided to murder you?... People are just assuming the other person is probably a murderer.

Though by the looks of it, all the people here would murder if they could get away with it... Christ. Screw it, if that's how the average person thinks, then I'm worth more than them. That said, I don't value my life highly anyway, so I guess I'd actually press blue.

blue button... i would be betting the random person is just as scared as i would be, not a murderer, so he or she would press the blue button too... why would someone want to kill a random person who he or she doesn't know in a situation like this where you could both get away free if you both press the blue button...

It's like the prisoner's dilemma, except that normally, the reward for 'betraying' is bigger than that for mutual co-operation. Since, in this case, you have nothing to actually gain from hitting the 'kill' button (as you end up alive either way and with no additional reward), the logical conclusion would be for both to hit the blue button. There's no reason to distrust the person on the other end, since they're not being tempted to press the red button. The only factor is the possibility that the other person might panic and hit the red button without thinking it through entirely. While I admit that there are certainly people who would, I believe that most people would have a problem killing a stranger, try to puzzle out a better solution, and realize that the red button actually offers no benefit to either party.

Blue button. Partly because I don't really care rather or not I die, and also because I would have to trust that someone else in the same situation would see the benefit of pressing blue, having to wait a mere five minutes, and then being released.

They made a movie about a box that if you press it a random person dies but you get a lot of money.

I'd press that machine until my hand went dead from aching too much. I don't even care that much about money but the downfall for me is people randomly dying whom I will probably never know, which happens literally every second of the day anyway.

Blue. I do not want to kill anyone. If they press red, oh well. I die. Too bad.

To me, it's obvious. I'd press the blue button. I would rather risk dying than to kill someone else.
