Space Brothers - While I thought Psycho-Pass was really well done, it doesn't even come close to having the same impact that Space Brothers has on me. Since I have a passion to learn about space and space travel, Space Brothers inspires me to do just a little bit more with my life. Only the best anime do that.

Welcome back Chromie.

I vote for Psycho-Pass. And I'm glad this is almost over because I'm starting to run out of new things to say about any of these anime. But there were many highlights in Psycho-Pass that tickled the part of my brain that likes to be challenged by awkward philosophical questions wielding weapons hammered out of morality in one hand and bucklers of compacted realism strapped to the other. And Psycho-Pass delivered on that as well as being deliciously morbid like the last chocolate bar you get to eat before your summary execution for posting verbose witticisms on an internet forum at 6:30AM after not sleeping at all the previous night. While I found Akane's character design irritating her actual character eventually won me over after I'd watched her survive enough emotional beatings to leave Sylvester Stallone in multiple pieces and she proved to be a tact viewpoint for the audience to crowd over while peering into this strange and objectionable world of cruelty ruled over by a machine of our own minds; which is much like every society really. Also the fact that their Sherlock Holmes stand-in was unable to leave his house for fear of setting off the Sybil System was fascinating and begged you to ponder something equally fascinating I'm too coherence-deprived to recall at the moment.

And the martial arts in episode 16 was sweet. The end.

One vote separated Shinsekai Yori and Sakurasou wow... so we can all say "my vote"... Feel bad for Pet Girl but glad for Shinsekai Yori which was my pick for the year.

Vote: In this contest I pick Psycho Pass because it was thinking man's anime, speculative fiction, lots of suspense right until the end. Pounding soundtrack and OP/ED tracks, the awesome Dominator, the creeping Sybil system, lots of gore. Can't wait to see it go up against Shinsekai Yori in the final round!

My vote goes to Space Brothers.

Space Brothers have good writing, nice pacing (screw the haters), the episodes could be about anything and it would still be entertaining, great characters that you can't help but like or dislike. An Interesting story with tense moments helps plenty.

Psycho-Pass, while I enjoyed watching it to some degree it suffered from several flaws.
- Before P-P came out, it was stated loud and clear that it wouldn't have any "moe" elements in it.
What did we get? Moe Face Protagonist (oh god someone fix her eyes please!) and "moe robots"
- It tries to be grimdark and serious, but it ends up being 2DEEP4U
Hey look at us, we are making references to real books! we are so deep, can you even understand our deepness?!
- The main villain's motivation was as deep as the show
Makishima: I was bored. Lol. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
- The Sibyl system got criticized through-out the show
But nothing is ever resolved in truth

To quote someone else:

In the end, Psycho-Pass was a decent series with some excellent ideas and the core of a fascinating and intelligent plot, undermined constantly by pseudo-intellectual pretentiousness, poor exposition, some real goofiness, a somewhat dissatisfying ending, and mistaking being dark and mature for ultraviolence.

A decent series, and a breath of fresh air in some regards, just disappointing in execution.

Space Brothers

There's so much realism and the interest with space truly captivates you. Psycho Pass was not one of Urobochi Gen's best works. I'm sure he's capable of more. Plus, Space Brothers has been consistent all throughout.

Space Brothers is my pick.
I like Psycho Pass a lot, but damn Space Brothers was something special. It all comes down to the characters for me. Space Brothers had some really memorable characters (almost the entire cast really), and gave each character introduced their time to develop. Sure, the pacing was sort of slow (for some people) but the story never felt like it dragged on. On the flip side Psycho Pass had good characters (not great), but they pale in comparison to space brothers. While the story for Psycho Pass was good and interesting, it wasn't anything I haven't heard before.

Psycho Pass

Quality wise, Space Brothers is better, but Psycho Pass was more fun to watch for me.

Let us place the nail in yon coffin.

Space Brothers is an excellent show containing many great episodes, nice characters, and is always a good watch. The worst space brothers episode is as good as most bad shows best episodes.

Psycho Pass is ..... okay. Yeah, okay. But Apo has more on screen presence and is more fun to watch than anyone in this show.

Space Bros gets the vote.
