Was that sentence understandable? :P
At least the ones that doesn't make through this round.

4 - Shinsekai Yori. Greatest anime of 2012, and by a long way too. I love speculative fiction done right, and this is about as "right" as it gets.

SSY and Psycho-Pass duked it out right to the end for me, but I thought Psycho-Pass pulled off the better ending.

Really curious to see what kind of votes that one pulls when it comes around.

I don't know what I'd do if I had to choose between those two. Almost a literal flip of the coin for me. It may actually come down to whether I like the outro's in Shin Sekai Yori or Psycho-Pass better. Even then though, both were exceptional. Hopefully, I don't need to go through that pain. Jesus, though, I'm stressing out now just thinking about it. Crossing my fingers that those don't get matched up.

I can't put SSY above Psycho-Pass. They were neck and neck until SSY did that ridiculous deus ex machina Tokyo story arc, tripping over one of its hurdles and doing a perfect 10-point face-plant before picking itself up and finishing the run (heavy-handedly). While Psycho-Pass is Gen Urobuchi - he never lost control the story or the characters.

That's just me though; I'm keen to see what other opinions are out there.

The higher tier battles should be a treat.

4 - Shin Sekai Yori: I thought this was a very thoughtful and well done series
3 - Sword Art Online: I thought this was a great show, ranging from fun to awesome to gripping, but not always entirely "thoughtful" or "intelligent"
2 - Dusk Maiden of Amnesia: I thought this was another thoughtful series, but not necessarily as engaging as Shin Sekai Yori or Sword Art Online
1 - Nisemonogatari: I thought this was rather generic, and was a poor attempt to continue an original and interesting series.

No. The very worst of the worst. Though I guess I can see the logic of calling that the best of the worst. It's the one that's best at being worst. (But best of the worst actually does imply least worst--at least that's how I interpret it.)

Forgot to post the average sales for last round, although very happy that Girls und Panzer went on.

Girls und Panzer *1,276+29,842=31,118 (4+) (Actus/Sentai Filmworks)
High School DxD *2,345+*7,405=*9,750 (6) (TNK/Funimation)
Hyouka *1,124+*8,572=*9,696 (11) (Kyoto Animation)

Hmm...this round, have seen most of Bakemonogatari, seen the first 6 episodes of Sword Art Online and finished Dusk Maiden of Amnesia.

4. Sword Art Online. The SAO ending can't be as trolling as Dusk Maiden's, and SAO at least seems more consistent than Dusk Maiden. But yeah, Kirito is emo and naturally, he's one of the most badass characters.
3. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. The second half was emotional and quite good. Ending was a bit too clever and trollish when a more bittersweet ending would have fit.
2. Shin Sekai Yori. Didn't see it.
1. Nisemonogatari. Based on my watching of Bakemonogatari, the Monogatari series is overrated, I have a love/hate thing with Hitagi and I don't like the male lead(the Snail episodes made me hate him). Still I don't actually hate the series, and I still like Tsubasa.

4.Sword Art Online - I enjoyed this quite a lot, but I felt that the Fairy arc or whatever it was called wasn't so good. :/
3. Nisemonogtari - I only recently got into the Monogatari series. It was quite enjoyable, I haven't actually watched the last two episodes yet. I don't really like Araragi's sisters...
2. Shinsekai Yori - Meh, I dropped it after two episodes. I had been really looking forward to this one when it first came out, I ended up not liking it as much as I wanted to. :(
1. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - I couldn't get into it at all.

4-Shinsekai Yori (This was definitely one of the best animes of the year. I thought it was really well done.)
3-Sword Art Online (It's an okay series, but I don't see what all the hype's about. In my opinion, the novels are WAY better.)
2-Disk Maiden of Amnesia (It was okay, but Sword Art Online was better.)
1-Nisemonogatari (I haven't seen it.)

4 - Shinsekai yori: Towards the climax, I was hooked in.
3 - Sword Art Online - People said it was the most amazing anime, people said it was the worst anime ever. I say it deserves a 3
2- Nisemonogatari : Would have been a 3 if it wasn't up against the previous two.
1 - Dusk Maiden of Amnesia: Decent start, but as the episodes progressed it became boring.

4. Shin Sekai Yori - I value unique storytelling more than almost anything else and SSY definitely had it. The story and themes were pretty dark at times while the animation was usually eye candy. Warrants repeat viewings.

3. Nisemonogatari - More provocative than tasteless, and that's something that the medium of anime needs more of. Not everyone will enjoy the show but like Garden of Sinners, it's a show that's worth at least one watch.

2. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - Not a bad series by any means but certainly not a great one. The pacing and character development were decent and the art truly matched the tone of the show.

1. Sword Art Online - Great potential but ultimately couldn't find its feet and burned out in the second season. Still great to look at but not much else about the show is rewarding.

4 - Shen Sekai Yori: Unique concept and a great story. Don't really understand why people thought it was confusing...I think the word they're looking for is "interesting."
3 - Dusk Maiden of Amnesia: Only seen one episode, but it was pretty funny.
2 - Sword Art Online: Started off great, then degenerated into an epic trainwreck of bad writing and sexism.
1 - Nisemonogatari: Never got into this franchise; seems to be overdosed on fanservice. Even fans of Monogatari seem to hate this installment.

These are backwards. The numbers are points, so the one you liked most gets a 4.

4 Shin Sekai Yori (Every single episode was thoroughly enjoyable, fascinating, thrilling, nice plot twists, good ending.)
3 Dusk Maiden of Amnesia (Likable characters, decent story, mystery, comedy+horror.)
2 Nisemonogatari (Put on hold after a few episodes, but I liked Nekomonogatari and Bakemonogatari.)
1 Sword Art Online (Didn't care for the main characters, story not that interesting, very little action, wasn't what I expected.)
