I just can't watch romantic comedies Chromie. I was so disappointed after watching Toradora which i heard was the best of the best.

Toradora is cute but highly overrated.
Clannad is the best of its genre.

That could explain it. I didn't even know what genre Clannad was but it's high in my to-watch list (3 shows before it).Though the Chromie-recommended tag might move it up a bit.

I guess I'll cast a one off vote for Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo. It was one of the most enjoyable series of 2012, and while the second half did drop off a bit it was still quite good.

I thought that Ano Natsu as a whole was well made, but I didn't like the characters or story so I couldn't get into it too much.

Ano Natsu de Matteru. Pet wasn't as good as others in it's genre imo.

Kokoro Connect because it had an interesting premise executed well. There was a real depth to how this shared unusual experience created bonds between friends and gave characters more insight into themselves. It was thought-provoking. (GuP had such a stupid premise that I did not care to watch far enough to determine whether or not it was well-executed. I tried a couple of episodes; I hated it.)

Easy.

Kokoro Connect

Girls und Panzer was a good way to kill some time, but nothing more to me. Kokoro Connect had pretty good characters, and delved deep into each of them. By the end I felt like I knew each character as well as I knew myself, because at some point, I'd struggled with a lot of the same questions they did. Each of them was utterly relatable, and the series was handled incredibly well. If we're including Michi Random, then it's a landslide -- that arc was handled as well as it possibly could have in my opinion, and it was an excellent ending to the show. I liked Girls und Panzer, but it was so-so in nearly every department, which means that Kokoro Connect is the clear choice here.

Again I love both but I have to give this one to Kokoro Connect!!!

I just love the overall plot and premise, the mystery of it behind what would otherwise have been a more usual high school rom com. It is a shame they didn't really get a chance to fully explore the premise in season one; I pray for a season two but will likely need to be satisfied with the light novels. Wonderful characters, awesome soundtrack, great music, beautiful backgrounds, emotional moments, great humor, all around excellent!

I really enjoy GuP too but I have to give this one to Kokoro Connect!!!

And so glad for Sakurasou! These votes will get harder as we go along...

I will probably rage quit if it loses somehow. Seriously, the only place Panzer competes is in moe appeal, and even then, Kokoro has those character designs, so it's not a big lead even in that category. If anyone that's finished both still votes Panzer, I am going to need to hear some seriously skillful arguments, because I will not be able to understand otherwise.

Can we start the next round we all know girls and panzer will get axed... unless a billion otakus comes in and votes for tank girls.

of course this is a joke (if one would misinterpret)

Since I just woke up (seriously) and do not want to write anything to defend tank girls i'll just plagiarize.

There’s a reasonably well-justified tendency among anime fans to hastily dismiss the potential merit of any permutation of the whole “cute girls doing cute things” motif that’s so nauseatingly ubiquitous in modern anime. In recent times, we’ve had a spate of these lusterless shows - whether it be “cute girls climbing mountains!” or “cute girls that are actually anthropomorphic guns or something!” - and the results are nigh-invariably uninspired dreck that’s not worthy of anyone’s time. With this in mind, it’s only natural to approach the simple premise of “cute girls driving tanks” with caution. It is against all odds, then, that Girls und Panzer manages to not only be worthwhile, but also one of the most consistently entertaining shows in recent memory.

more plagiarizing

Girls und Panzer is a show with a ridiculous premise and setting, the show acknowledges this and embraces it to deliver great comedy. No matter how ridiculous the happenings or plot points, like friendly tank battles being held in town centres, or a man thinking it's good luck that a tank crushed his shop, it plays it straight and just lets you enjoy it, without it pointing the joke out to make sure you got it. It mocks clichés by putting them into stupid contexts and then blowing them completely out of proportion. There will always be something there to make you laugh, the humor of the show is very consistent, and though it's not the biggest draw of the show, it's what helps to make the show so enjoyable.
