Just a thought -- since you will have 5 shows advancing anyway, you could just call this a tie and have both advance to the next round so that there's an even number of shows in the next round (edit: sorry, I meant to say the round after next). This would would give you 3 teams in the finals, which you can deal with later -- maybe the final three face of in two different rounds or something. At any rate, I was wondering how you were going to deal with the odd number of shows in the next round (again, I meant the round after next), and a tie might be a justified opportunity to add an extra show to the list of advancing shows -- just make sure they don't face off again. Judging from the comments, I don't think either of these are going to win anyway.

Edit: Of course this means that some team will need to have a bye during the next round, and I would suggest the show that had the biggest gap in votes in its battle. But again, it's just an idea.

This will do.
It's a tie then.

Kuroko's Basketball

My favorite anime of 2012. I loved this show. I liked Hyouka, it was cool but KuroBas is my kind of show.

Kuroko No Basuke
Apparently I am a sports anime afficianado. They successfully carry me along losing track of just how many damned episodes are being spent on one game or match, and enjoying every one of those episodes. There's a focus on character growth as well, and often their developing relationships with others, and I really like that. In Kuroko I especially liked the almost magical quality of the prodigies (not always something I find appealing, but it worked here). And of course there's the excitement of seeing who will win and how, which even when one knows who will ultimately win is still a thrill when done well. And meaningful losses--I love seeing those also. So Kuroko had all that, plus it was just plain fun to watch, and all the players are just so damned fine to look at.

To be fair, I did not see Hyouka, and it may well be I'd have liked it quite a bit. But I feel no guilt about voting for Kuroko--if I hadn't liked it, I would not have voted for it just because I'd seen it.

2 of my favorite shows of 2012, in 1 match.
I cannot.

But I'll vote for Hyouka.
It's better in more departments
(animation, direction, characters, music, re-watch value, comedy, script).

KuroBas has the story line, excitement / thrill and entertainment value.

I really love both and probably everyone who knows me knows I love these shows a LOT.
But Hyouka has earned a rightful place in my Top 15, which is something KuroBas failed to do.
KuroBas was a great sports anime, but grouped with the likes of
Major, One Outs and Cross Game, it doesn't stand out.

Hyouka, on the other hand, was a unique anime that although had very shallow
story line, the direction + animation + music + script combination makes up for this,
making it the better one in my opinion.

Going to go with Hyouka on this one. No special reason really but being a Kyoto Animation fan as well as the fan of the series itself, I enjoyed watching Eru Chitanda, Oreki, and the rest of the club do what they do best: solving mysteries while having fun.

Kuroko's Basketball

These are two of my favorite anime from 2012 but three things make KuroBas a better anime for me than Hyouka: I enjoyed KuroBas a little more, its getting a second season, and its a sports anime and I'm a huge sports fanatic. Hyouka was great and I really enjoyed the moments when Oreki would solve the mysteries, but KuroBas is just a better anime for me.

Are you insane?! :P

I'm of course voting for the best anime of 2012, Kuroko's Basketball.
I've watched it at least 7 times now, maybe more since I've lost count xD

I haven't seen Kuroko, and Hyouka isn't good enough for me to be certain I'd like it more than Kuroko if I saw it, although it was pretty damn good. I'll probably give Kuroko a shot today though. Anyone have any suggestions for "when it gets good?" How long does it take to know whether I'll like it or not?
