Space Brothers kept me entertained for almost 40 episodes so I guess it gets my vote. Has the Desert Brothers section finished yet so I can watch it again???

Tried to watch Kids on the Slope, just couldn't get into it...

They got out of the desert a couplethree episodes ago. It's safe to go back. Currently exploring background of some of the American characters. I was wondering when we'd learn more about Bold, and that's now happening.

UPDATES:

Main Battle 10 is now over!
Kids on the Slope (11 votes) advances with Space Brothers ( 11 votes ) to the next round.
Table and results updated.
Special Round: Revenge of the Fallen is now up! Rules for this round is posted here. Vote for your faves now!

Revenge of the Fallen

RULES:

♦ You are to rate each anime. 10 being the highest, and 6 being the lowest.
♦ State you reasons or your score to that anime will not be counted.
For example:

Anime 1 - 8/10 because
Anime 2 - 9/10 because
.
.
.
Anime 8 - 6/10 because

♦ Any score below 6 or above 10 is invalid. These animes made it into tourney proper, they can't possibly be that bad to deserve a 5 and below. This is also to avoid sabotaging a certain anime contestant's average score.
♦ The 2 anime with the highest average score will proceed to Round 3.
♦ Note that you are to give each anime the score you think they deserve. Having 2 anime with the same score is not an issue. It's allowed.
♦ If you haven't seen one or two of these anime, then skip them. Don't score them. Score the ones that you do know.

Happy rating!

If we have to give a rating for each one, does this mean that only those who have seen all 8 anime can vote (which would be a very limited number of people)? I've only seen 3 of the anime and parts of 2 others.

Tough one for me between Nisemonogatari and Girls Und Panzer... Love both but I think I have to give it to:

Nisemonogatari 10/10

Just more depth to it, more layers though it is hard to compare a cute, clean sports anime to Nisio's masterful writing and ecchi.

Girls Und Panzer 9/10

GUP has a great soundtrack, fun characters, very cute and amazing military accuracy, much more than I expected plus a feel good story.

And the other one from that list I really enjoyed:

Zetsuen 8/10

Loved the characters and the music but the story didn't quite feel like it held together at the end. Kept wishing for something better for one character that never happened.

Thanks for reminding me. Forgot to mention that one.
You are allowed to vote and score the anime that you do know.
Just skip the ones that you don't, don't score them.

Not sure why we're putting cut shows back in at this stage.

How many are returning?

Anyway...

It'd be easier to rate them in order personal best to personal worst.

I'll try, though.

Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita / Humanity Has Declined: This was keenly enjoyable (9/10).
Nisemonogatari: Whiplashed from Bakemonogatari, but it was still a fun time (9/10).

Ano Natsu de Matteru / Waiting in that Summer: This was really good at what it set out to do (8/10).
Kuroko's Basketball: Really enjoyed this - it's fun enough to bump (8/10).

Girls und Panzer: Fun and entertaining, but not really notable - filler series (7/10).
Jormungand: I watched the first season; it's a moderately passable Black Lagoon clone (7/10).

Zetsuen no Tempest / Blast of Tempest: Wasn't particularly impressed, dropped early in the season (6/10).
Magi: Wasn't particularly impressed, dropped early in the season (6/10).

I hope this doesn't turn into as much of a chore for you to tally as it looks like it will.

Seeing that I've only watched one of the eight I'll only vote for that one.

Waiting in the Summer. 10/10 Reminded me of Super 8 but in a nice warm fuzzy way.

I need two more anime to complete the next round's list.
Also, seeing as there were people who weren't satisfied with some of the results,
plus how close these results were, I think it's a good idea to give them a chance.

Magi-9/10- I really liked Magi because it made me laugh and cry. I also liked how imperfect the characters are, it makes them more likable!
Zetsuen no Tempest -8/10-I was on the edge of my seat for the first season. I kinda lost a bit of respect when "love" came into play but I just pushed threw and finished and I was pleased with the way things turned out.
Kuroko's Basketball - 6/10- It was fun to pass the time but I didn't really keep up with it. I still haven't finished it.
Jormungand- 6/10- I liked the art style but dropped it after a handful of episodes.

Sounds good.

I think I sounded testy when I didn't mean to, really.

I am curious what else will advance besides Nisemonogatari; Jinrui would be nice.

Well, this is interesting! Unfortunately, I've only seen half of these, but I doubt I'll be the only one in this situation, and I really want to have my say here. I actually had scores for all of them written out until I refreshed and saw the instruction to skip the ones I haven't seen.

Humanity Has Declined - 10/10 because it's my favourite anime of 2012. Original, quirky humour with some serious points to make without feeling the need to push those points too hard. Mediator is fantastic, and the visual style really appeals to me. On MAL, I haven't given this 10/10, but I'm much stricter on MAL than is fair for this competition, and this series really was fantastic.

Waiting in the Summer - 7/10 because it made an effort to make every character sympathetic (except Remon, but she was a troll anyway (but still lovable in her own way (triple brackets are cool))), and the chemistry between the two leads was great. On their own, though, the leads were fairly bland, and that stopped me from really loving this series.

Magi - 6/10 because I watched the first episode, and it didn't appeal to me. I felt like it was trying to insert cheap laughs into every single situation. Maybe as it goes on, you get used to it, but I was watching a bunch of stuff that season anyway, and I didn't feel Magi was worth carrying on with.

Nisemonogatari - 8/10 because although it doesn't have the balance or the pace of its predecessor, it still has great characters, wonderful style, witty dialogue and is generally a lot of fun. As much as my head tells me this series doesn't deserve 8/10, my heart says otherwise.

This isn't a straight "vote one anime you want to go through". You might want to read chrome_mist's post again.

This should be interesting.

Jormungand - 9/10 - Intense, nonstop action combined with unique visuals. Even without a deep plot (which was largely absent during the first season), this series managed to keep me greatly entertained. I actually prefered it when it focused simply on Koko and her group's various arms dealings. Sometimes, it's nice to just keep things simple.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita - 7/10 - It was so hilarious just how random this series could be. By coupling the weird actions of the tiny elves and the pessimistic attitude of the main character, the series managed to create a solid comedic experience. However, these random occurences only happen at certain points, as opposed to all throughout the series. In between such times, when the series is trying to build up to those moments, the series can be quite dull, or at least nowhere near as interesting. The comedy to me also seemed to fall back in the middle episodes (the time loop arc, in particular).

Girls und Panzer - 7/10 - This is a good example of a series that is simply "good" (what I designate as "7/10"). On one hand, it is an entertaining series that one can find few faults with. The characters are likable and the setting is interesting. There really wasn't much I didn't like. On the other hand, it does very little to stand out. There's minimal drama and the plot can be predictable. It was a nice watch, but it won't likely wow anyone, except for how no one was killed during the matches throughout the series.

Kuroko's Basketball - 10/10
It's my favorite anime from 2012.
I've watched it 7 or 8 times now, and I'm still not bored with it.
Every character in it is awesome.
The animations could've been better though.

Jinrui - 9/10
Hilarious, for the most part.
That OP is great.

AnoNatsu - 8/10
It was a nice one.
Nice op and ed.

Jormungand - 7/10
Becaus of Koko.
