would go for Kids on the Slope......

youth-wise it wins. Thou Natsume Yuujinchou (Shi) is just much more relaxing and heart-warming... (which fits "wind"...)
Kids on the Slope got more spice and thrill.

music-into-atmosphere-wise they are a tie

Natsume Yujinchou Shi

Kids on the Slope was good, but Natsume was better. Kids on the Slope had great, interesting characters that were extremely relatable, and a storyline that developed the characters effectively. Great music doesn't hurt either. However, there were also definitely moments where the drama felt a little forced to me -- angst for the sake of angst. To be fair, this was an extremely small part of the show, and I felt the drama was well done for an overwhelming majority of the show. It's just a few frustrating moments that put the show below Natsume.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi, on the other hand, almost always feels relaxed, despite some genuine emotional events. The main characters are very well-done, and even the side characters feel extremely fleshed out. It's really hard to ding this show on anything significant. The only thing I can see is that the show is nearly impossible to marathon. It's great in small doses, but it does get boring if I watch multiple episodes in a row.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi.
It's one of my favorite series and although Kids on the Slope was good,
Natsume has 4 seasons, that means 4x the amusement.
Natsume Yuujinchou Shi was probably the best season (for me) too.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi

It's one of my favourite series ever. I love the characters, the story - I would've loved to learn more about Reiko. It's beautiful and can be very emotional.

Hyouka

Simple. I haven't seen Space Brothers yet. Ooh and of course it was quite enjoyable watching Oreki and the club doing what they do best at.

My vote goes to Hyouka, because I never caught the space bug, ever, so Space Brothers has zero appeal to me. I also have no brothers (or sisters) close to my age, and while I love science both NASA and astronauts bore me to death.

Meanwhile, Hyouka was beautiful. I loved the artistic quality, the characters (including Oreki being a "deadpan snarker"), the direction they took the series and relationships, all the individual arcs, and just how relaxing the whole thing was.

Hyouka isn't a masterpiece, really, but it was definitely above par and for all intents and purposes it was faultless. And it was also a window into rural Japan that I found very enjoyable, which I'll remember whenever I think about ice cream.

Space Brothers is good I think - I've seen some of it - but it's just unremarkable to me personally. If anything it reminds me of Gintama for some absurd reason (I think it was the type of humor). But nothing about it really entertained me.

If any of you guys and gals have ever played magic the gathering, there is an event called "drafting" you get 3 booster packs 15 cards each pack. You open one pack pick one card and you pass the cards you didn't pick in either direction(decided before hand). You keep taking cards till the pack is gone and continue with the last 2 packs.

the goal is to build a deck with the cards you choose and if you choose a certain color you stick to that color. so... basically there is this thing called "hate drafting" the person downstream of you choose a particular color and you are taking his color cards before him such that he gets crap.

This is the concept of "hate drafting" personally I think I am going to hate draft hyouka this round.

Space brothers gets the vote because of "hate draft"

spoilers is not a vote, the vote is above spoiler in blue

This is making me sad, seing SB lose to that :(

I'll of course vote for Space Brothers.
Great anime, great characters, exciting, slow paced done very right, great soundtrack.
Those openings and endings are all awesome, fun videos.
