One is willing to spend thousands upon thousands on the Anime culture while the other is just annoying about trying to be all like Anime or some mess like that. "LAWL"
(There's probably some overlapping and such, but yeah. So yeah. "LAWL")

I never met either in real life. I prefer it that way.

Weeaboo:

Someone who is obsessed with Japan/Japanese Culture/Anime, etc. and attempts to act as if they were Japanese, even though they're far from it. They use Japanese words but usually end up pronouncing them wrong and sounding like total assholes. You can find alot of these faggots clogging up the forums of Gaia Online, hanging out in the international aisle of the supermarket, or crowding the manga section of your local bookstore. Synonym of wapanese.
I told that weeaboo girl over there that Inuyasha sucks. She slapped me across the face and proceded to cuss me out in Japanese.

they're both insults, but anime fans will see one as a compliment.

Basically, a weeaboo (also called wapanese) is an individual who is not Japanese has an obsession with the Japanese culture to the point where it becomes irritating and obnoxious to the general public. Usually, they embarrass the Japanese culture as a whole by pretending to be Japanese, constantly using simple phrases like"Watashi wa kawaii-desu" or "Arigato gozaimasu". They pretty much wish they were born asian xD These people are looked down upon in the anime-loving community.

On the other hand, an otaku simply is a person obsessed with anime, video games, comics, or any other type of fictional media. Otakus usually spend thousands of dollars to collect a plethora of merchendise that relates to their obsession, whether it be action figures, manga, comics, dvd's, etc.

Out of the two, otakus are more tolerable and in my opinion, more interesting than weeaboos xD

That's just my two cents~

Otaku is a social stigma in Japan were their treatment is almost no different than a burakumin(A Japanese equivalent of Untouchables). They are socially awkward, crude, a shut-in(most of the time) and downright creepy. They would spend thousands of dollars on merchandise related to their interest no matter how insignificant it is. Most gaijin think that this is a compliment rather than an insult.

A weeaboo is simply a fanboy or a fangirl of the Japanese culture and they view it as a superior culture while the rest are just inferior or plain shit.
