If my crappy english annoy any1 please excuse me, its not my first language
This is a reply to MojoChaos comment in page 10

[Wouldn't it make sense to explain why Eren got in the top ten? I'm sure that of all the other recruits, there must have been at least one that was better than his "determination."Anyways, I believe he placed fifth, so wouldn't that mean that his "determination" makes him stronger than others? Eren has "no outstanding talent" and makes top five? I mean, seriously, could someone explain that too me?

I don't really see why they need to explain something as obvious as that, if you watch episodes 2-3-4 carefully you will see that they all all heavily implied on that fact that the majority of the recruits there are either those who has not seen Titans and just join because it's a "respectable job" other who has seen Titan just wanna get into the Military Police to stay sefely behind the inner wall, i don't see them getting anywhere with that sort of spirit. Determination + hard work = no big surprise Eren got in top 10 what do you expect? some amazing scene where he KO every1?

They also tried this attempt with character development when Eren says that he's changed from being a rambling idiot with no control. Well, I don't necessarily see that. In the five years that had passed, all I've seen Eren do is go from emotionally unstable, annoying stereotype to an older emotionally unstable, annoying stereotype. Nothing has changed, he is still extremely frustrated and mad, and believes that he will some how come out on top with his nonexistent talent.
Sure, he gets smacked down, but right now in his fight with the big guy, he's all like, "Oh yeah, I'm gonna kill all the Titans!!!" Seriously, could you get anymore childish. He has some sort of illogical reason to go after these Titans that he stands no chance against and believes that revenge will solve his problems

I, on another hand, really interest in how his personality is built up. I mean, he get to see his own mother get eaten alive when he was like... 10,11 years old? who could NOT go crazy from that kind of sh*t, if it was me i will just grab the nearest 'weapon looking' things and kill ( or at least try) to kill all those Titans. He acts exactly how a normal KID/ TEENAGER, he got emotional talking about Titan, he goes crazy about revenge because it is the only thing left in this world for him to cling on, he gets angry when people don't think the same way as his!! JUST LIKE ANY HUMANS BEING! and this give our Erec a touch of reality of how a human's rational mind can just crumble when they are pushed to the limit.
I have no idea what you expect Eren to be after all this? since when does all characters has to be something like Sasuke Uchiha?

[Also, the show in general is getting very predictable. Armin just about got eaten, and somehow, with no foot, Eren comes into the Titan's mouth, gets down to the level Armin is at, grabs his hand, uses some sort of strength on a slippery, slanted tongue to keep the mouth open and get Armin out, only to be eaten and swallowed, and this all happened in what seemed to be five seconds, so apparently, it takes Titans forever to swallow and or chew.

Really? if it wasn't for the flash back i would have no f**king idea that Eren will come to save Armin. You must be some kind of freaking psychic or something because i, al though have prepared to see some sort of dark development considering how the theme of this show goes, i did not even come close to guessing that Eren will get eaten in the 5th episode! which anime kills their lead in the 5th episode?! ( maybe Dbz but its a different cases). It also caught me in total surpirse as how their squad just get DEMOLISHED so easily by those mother f**ker Titans, i mean they give 2 episodes to tell us of how they train and become strong and all that but BAM! KIA in 5s, i don't think any1 could have seen that coming, the closest i got is that they will do some damage or at least kill a Titan. This kind of twist is damn amazing, it emphasised on how strong Titan really is and how desparate the humanity in in term of fighting back. Reality check, a bucnh of cadets who just graduated will not stand a chance in real battle something that most typical shounen anime tends to forget.

All previous anime experiences tell us that Eren is still alive, yet the point at which Armin was swallowed would have made the anime so much better and would have dealt a much greater effect. But no, we should keep the useless, cowardly weakling. I know this is anime, but seriously?

This is point which needs to be discussed, some people like it, some people don't but it gots nothing to do with predictable or not. The fact that you quote it and getting all anoyed, angry about it shown how successful the anime is in term of infecting you with emotinal out burst which keep you on your seat waiting for the next episodes to see why the fu*k did Eren save this useless bastard. But after watching the 6th episode i can sort of see why, even before the titan , Eren has got a strong sense of justice, although dark and twisted as how he decided to mercilessly kill 2 people as such a young age, we know that there is no way hes gonna to just sit and watch his best friend got killed.

[Also, in the first episode, very easy to predict his mother would die, and that the Titans would show up directly after saying "We haven't been attacked in a long time."

Again .. really? basically most of anime will get predictable if you pay attention in the first 15 minutes of the show. That is why we need twists near the end but i don't see why they need any of that yet in the first episode, this first episode is just to set the foundation for the rest of the anime and the scene of Eren's mother death is quite amazing and leave some sort of impression on you.

i have to agree with the 2nd part though, seem kinda rush and would definetly feel a lot better without that line.

All in all, I can't see any way that this show is as good as people say it is. At most, it is 7/10 for its good action sequences and animation. Other than that, it is absolute crap. It doesn't make any sense at all, nor does it deserve the praise every one gives it. Just another overly hyped up show, *sigh*...

Face it, the show is amazing. The fact that you don't like the plot have got nothing to do with the quality of the show, its just your own opinion. Me and many other people, prefer this type of anime and adore how the story is written, its like a fresh wind, somthing that has rarely been done with such good quality, it definetly stand out from the rest of the animes there and truely deserve the all the parise so far. It's just not the right anime for YOU, so if you are planning to wirte a wall of text analying an anime please try to stay as neutral as possible, calling other people favourite show 'crap' is not a cool thing to do.

Oh , 1 more thing. For all those people who compare Gargantia to AoT, i have no idea how you managed that. These 2 animes are 360 degrees different in plot, story development, genre, art style, etc the only thing you can compare about these is the animation. So if you are saying which anime is better, i really hope you mean which anime you LIKE better cause it makes no sense comparing these 2.

The reason why Gargentia is not as hyped up as AoT is quite simple. Aot stands out as something that has rarely been done before while Gargentia, no matter how amazing the plot is, first imprssion, another Mecha anime with shiny robots and battleship + big boobs girls. Another reason is that AoT is directed by Tetsuro Araki ( death note), pretty much any shows he did tends to get overly hyped before it even come out so bear with it.

lets summarize what happened in the show so far. Eren is bragging to everyone how he is going to kill all the Titans, which is histerical because how is he going to do it even if thew most elite force in the I guess army couldn't. His bragging and partially arrogance gets his teammates killed, and thankfully would of killed him also if soddenly, oh yeah right magical powers to the rescue. Why Eren is a center of attention anyway, Mikasa should of replaced him as main character.
