Ok started reading the manga....um..... Two words.
I mean, that's what it is, right?

Pretty much, yes. It's basically EVA with a complete lack of subtlety (instead of an almost complete lack of subtlety).

Though Attack on Titan has some nice animation. Only really saw some of episode 1 and all of 3. It's not too bad, though I'm not sure if I can handle another anime. Between anime and dramas this season, I got like 13-14 I'm watching 0_0

That's it? It seems I'm always watching over 20 animes at once, and that's just animes...

Please keep in mind that not everybody can make 20+ anime series work into their lifestyle. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you were just making jubilant conversation, but for the record it sounded like you were being really condescending. Maybe you should edit that comment before someone gets the wrong idea...

lol don't worry, I didn't personally find it condescending. A smiley would have helped me understand the intent though.

But yeah, trying to juggle more than 10 shows is hard for me, and more work than it is usually worth. A lot I end up forgetting about and never finish. I still have 3 episodes of Flower Boy Next Door to finish.

I know exactly what you mean. I went into the season thinking I'd be watching like three shows a day, and now I'm sitting here like, "Hey, remember that Crime Edge show? What in the hell ever happened to that one?..." I wish that I could make the time/attention span to watch them all once a week, but I just can't wing it. On top of that, if we want to watch a completed series (like I'm watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Amnesia right now), then that makes it just that much more impossible to pull the 20+ diet.

And by the way, I'm totally with you on Hataraku Maou-sama (Devil is a Part-Timer). Definitely my favorite for the year, especially after that last episode a few days ago.

I actualy like this anime! I dont delve to far into art styles and what not...honestly being that picky is just plain sad. I however read the manga and have ruined rest of the story for me but im still looking forward to the animation of it since im not a manga reader at heart. I love the animation of the blood and gore, and the whole -no one is a badass- part since ALOT of good ppl have been killed and heck the main guy got ate lol (tho i know what happens latter as i said...ruined it for myself). But this IS the anime to watch for me, and Gargantia is a close second with the Rom-Coms in third since i love those types of anime as well. Give this a chance ppl its really good just dont be so dang picky lol.

I like this anime cause it feel fresh and not over done... I actually like the pace at which it is going. I'm really tired of anime's where the hero's get over powered too quickly and are easily able to dispatch the enemies. The fact that the hero has to work hard to defeat the enemy, at least early on, his very enjoyable.

Nah not trying to be a jerk but saying it is possible to keep track of that many. And Attack on Titan is definitely worth adding to your schedule. All animes generally have good recaps before each episode to refresh you. I understand if you have a busier lifestyle that doesn't allow it though. I personally do prefer when I'm watch a completed series and only focusing on that watching lots of episodes back to back.

Your first reply was a lot worse than what I said, I just don't see what could seem condescending about it. It is what it is though.

Yeah, what I said was pretty antagonistic. I'm really sorry about that. When I read your original reply to serjle02, I took it in a completely different way than you meant it, and I jumped the gun with my own reply. I intentionally tried to instigate something without seriously considering that you may have just been making conversation. It was entirely my bad, so I am really sorry about that.

Anyway, yeah, I'm not very good at keeping track of lots of different things, so it doesn't lend well to dozens of shows as I've learned with this season. I think once school is out and I'm done with all of my AP exams and AP exam prep that it'll be a lot easier to keep tabs on a jumble of shows.

I pity the fool who doesn't make it to episode 5 of AoT. You think this is just another generic shounen? Boy you got another thing comin'.

It's the little things that make this show so great. Stuff like episode one where Hannes charges forth to be the hero, but reality strikes as he confronts the Titan and his cowardly nature takes over. Or how the mother tells her children to run, but loses her composure and begs for them not to leave despite trying to stop herself. This series is very good at showing base human nature at it's ugliest and most desperate moments. It's also REALLY good at foreshadowing. Hoo boy will there be a lot of "holy crap, how did I not notice all that this whole time!" as the big reveals start appearing. Oh, and gore. It's real good at gore, too. Hope you like seeing people getting eaten and torn apart all the time, because damn if there isn't a lot of that in this series. If Evangelion and Berserk had a baby, it would be Attack On Titan.

Haven't watched Gargantia yet, plan to. I hear it's good. If it's as good as AOT, then that will make this season outstanding with three fantastic shows; AOT, Gargantia, and Devil Is A Part-Timer.

People like that dude earlier upthread who is 44, from Alabama, only plays World of Warcraft, literally hates human interaction, and is probably wider than he is tall. That is the sort of person who dislikes Attack On Titan. Are you one of those people? No, of course not.

Why is everyone loving Attack of the Titans???? How can you ask such a silly question . .. so far it isn't much like any other Anime out there. It's keeping people guessing what's going to happen. . .It's actually an anime you're not exactly sure what's going to happen next. . . their is no real main character. . .or this guy is super over powered and is going to just slaughter everyone and everything. It's AMAZING!

Why is CR encouraging reviews of a show that has barely started? Isn't it bad enough people review after 1 or 2 eps?

That being said, I am loving Titan. The animation is wonderful and I find the writing and stroyline refreshing. So far it's been well presented and developed.

On MAL people sometimes rate and review shows before they air LOL

There is time pressure these days, you have to do everything really fast and early now. There is no time for shows to develop. I admit, I watch a ton of shows and if a show doesn't grab me immediately it may not hold my interest. Attack on Titan did that well, it had an exciting first episode, a very upbeat OP. Lots of hooks to future story development were laid down, mysteries to be solved, characters that are interesting so you have a reason to keep watching.
