I dig this show a lot. The animation, setting, characters. All of it is right where it needs to be to set up this awesome show. Truthfully though I'd love to see Bleach and Fairy Tail come back, miss watching those every week.

I completely agree. Gargantia is the anime to watch too. IDK where they got this info but I also agree w/what hellz_yeah305 said too. I disagree w/what Kykeido said, the first episode was a huge space battle, mang. aside from the story building the same can be said about Attack on Titan, slow start w/a mix of fighting here and there, they tug at your heartstrings w/Attack on Titan but I believe Gargantia has the complexity and the depth over Titan.

I caved so hard... I found the manga to this and read the whole thing, as much as they have publised. It has a few dry spots; but man the plot just gets so good....!

Because it's beautifully executed, style, animations, voice acting, musical score, I have no bad critiques on this show as of yet. Maybe Sasha seemed a little out of place in the show but it needs a little comic relief because it's an intense show.

Also, everyone is making a big deal out of it because there is finally something posted that isn't echi, something that isn't all about panties and boobs and actually has a story.

I have to say, by far, this is the best anime I've ever seen (And I've watched over 250 animes). I have read all of the manga the have come out so far. I know only 5 episodes have aired, but I instantly became addicted ( I also made many other people addicted). The animation is great; it has its own style and it stand out. The plot is just stunning and drags you in and never lets you go. I have to give it a 10/10. If you haven't read the manga, you are in for a lot of surprises. This season, I am watching 30 different airing animes, but I only really think about this one. I am addicted and can't stop thinking about this anime. The only thing I can say about this anime is that it's just amazing. I know not all people would share my opinions, but this anime is just the best. I would recommend it to anyone. I have recommended this anime to many people and they have become addicted. This anime is simply phenomenal.

Why is CR encouraging reviews of a show that has barely started? Isn't it bad enough people review after 1 or 2 eps?

That being said, I am loving Titan. The animation is wonderful and I find the writing and stroyline refreshing. So far it's been well presented and developed.

On MAL people sometimes rate and review shows before they air LOL

There is time pressure these days, you have to do everything really fast and early now. There is no time for shows to develop. I admit, I watch a ton of shows and if a show doesn't grab me immediately it may not hold my interest. Attack on Titan did that well, it had an exciting first episode, a very upbeat OP. Lots of hooks to future story development were laid down, mysteries to be solved, characters that are interesting so you have a reason to keep watching.

Before they air? They're the psychic anime watchers.

A lot of people make up their minds that they will love or hate something before they even see it, or after they see just the character designs and previews.

About you comment questioning Eren being picked as the top 10. If you read the manga, you will see that most of the new recruits are pretty shitty or average at best. So it isn't that his determination is what allows him to be among the top ten, it is just that he is the best of the worse and nowhere near some of the other 9.

And although I would be the first to say that Eren is not that much of an interesting character, but to say that he is like any other male lead in most animes? I would have to disagree with that statement. Your typical male lead is what you see in most mainstream animes (Goku, Edward Elric, Kirito, Ichigo, Naruto......any other of those shitty chars). In comparison to them, Eren is a breath of fresh air. He is just your Average Joe, but he has a reason to go up against insurmountable odds, revenge. His blind hatred along with his naivety makes him overconfident. He later gets smacked down to reality, making him see the world differently and becoming more than some stupid kid.

I'm not saying he is an amazingly written character, but he is nowhere near as bad as you are making him out to be.

I would have to disagree. First of all, I don't normally read manga. For some anime, I do, but I knew anime way before knowing what manga was, so I never got into it. Normally, I don't care about the manga, take SAO for instance. Great manga, but the anime sucked, even though it was very enjoyable, it had a ton of flaws (I really do like SAO, just I can and will recognize its flaws). Can we really say they are one and the same, eh, not really.

Wouldn't it make sense to explain why Eren got in the top ten? I'm sure that of all the other recruits, there must have been at least one that was better than his "determination."Anyways, I believe he placed fifth, so wouldn't that mean that his "determination" makes him stronger than others? Eren has "no outstanding talent" and makes top five? I mean, seriously, could someone explain that too me? They also tried this attempt with character development when Eren says that he's changed from being a rambling idiot with no control. Well, I don't necessarily see that. In the five years that had passed, all I've seen Eren do is go from emotionally unstable, annoying stereotype to an older emotionally unstable, annoying stereotype. Nothing has changed, he is still extremely frustrated and mad, and believes that he will some how come out on top with his nonexistent talent.

Edward Elric, a shitty character... That's just hilarious, and you think Eren is unique? (Although I would agree on the rest, namely Naruto) Sure, he gets smacked down, but right now in his fight with the big guy, he's all like, "Oh yeah, I'm gonna kill all the Titans!!!" Seriously, could you get anymore childish? Revenge in itself is a childish topic, especially with his mindset. He's just like this emotional roller coaster that can't seem to figure out how to stop. And, as we all know, eventually, he will gain some sort of ability that was incredibly predictable so that he can stop these Titans. He is not your every day "Average Joe" in anyway at all. An Average Joe is not ever the main character, that just makes the story incredibly boring. He has some sort of illogical reason to go after these Titans that he stands no chance against and believes that revenge will solve his problems. All he is is a bundle of emotion that can only think about avenging others in the face of imminent death. Hopefully he changes later on, but now, he just sucks.

Also, the show in general is getting very predictable. Armin just about got eaten, and somehow, with no foot, Eren comes into the Titan's mouth, gets down to the level Armin is at, grabs his hand, uses some sort of strength on a slippery, slanted tongue to keep the mouth open and get Armin out, only to be eaten and swallowed, and this all happened in what seemed to be five seconds, so apparently, it takes Titans forever to swallow and or chew. All previous anime experiences tell us that Eren is still alive, yet the point at which Armin was swallowed would have made the anime so much better and would have dealt a much greater effect. But no, we should keep the useless, cowardly weakling. I know this is anime, but seriously? Also, by this time, is it safe to assume the other two that were shown are dead as well? No one is there to save them, but I feel like they will be saved somehow. Also, in the first episode, very easy to predict his mother would die, and that the Titans would show up directly after saying "We haven't been attacked in a long time."

All in all, I can't see any way that this show is as good as people say it is. At most, it is 7/10 for its good action sequences and animation. Other than that, it is absolute crap. It doesn't make any sense at all, nor does it deserve the praise every one gives it. Just another overly hyped up show, *sigh*...

Haha. It is hilarious how much my viewpoint has changed over the past week or so. I agree with you 100%. I actually made a post in the AoT thread a few days ago that was very similar to your's. I seriously can't remember why I felt that way back then. It is possible that it was before I read the manga, but I can't be certain. Anyways, your points are completely valid lol.
