I agree I think powerpuff girls is moe. Moe has such a vague definition though and a lot of times it depends on that person's individual tastes. Something I have definitely noticed this season, the majority in the western crowd seem to hate moe. I even seen people in forums try to use it as an insult, or to make someone look less credible because they like moe.

(getting back on topic.) I think the girls in Despicable me are moe too, along with aang's grandchildren in Last airbender (even Meelo, I consider him the most moe).

Moe is more of a cultural aesthetic, that's become something of a story-telling (and maybe even marketing) device in modern anime. I'm not sure you can equate it with cuteness either --- I think it's usually considered as more of a character definition that evokes a sense of nurturing protectiveness out of the viewer (usually male). Although there are a number of 'cute' characters in Western animation, there generally isn't that same cultural aesthetic to evoke a feeling of nurturing protectiveness from male viewers (most cute characters in Western animation are made to appeal to girl culture), so I'm not sure you can apply it quite the same here in the West.

I don't even know what Moe is anymore. It's too broad a term. I hear people saying this woman here is the dawn of western Moe, though. I tend to disagree, she's more like a revitalization of Disney princesses.

i think that there is plenty of moe in western anime it's just the definition is so broad that no one can really narrow it down also like kilikikero said its more of a cultural aspect so nobody really looks for it ...but hey what do i know
