TV is still going strong. So are movie theaters.

I thought they would both end years back with more and more online content, but it hasn't turned out like that.

It's somewhat less mainstream than it used to be, but the differences are primarily generational. Many Baby Boomers are more likely to watch shows on TV, as opposed to watching them online, while younger generations are more used to streaming options. (Many retirement homes have wi-fi access, but it's more for the convenience of visiting family members, and most rooms will have at least one TV per resident.) Hell, many (perhaps most) kids born in the US past the mid-late 90's have never known of a world without the internet.

I hardly watch it, there's not much good stuff, but there's TONS of crap on TV. Over 1,000 channels and nothing good to watch...I get really close to canceling my cable often, but I don't. I don't know why. Theaters are overpriced, and it's not worth the hassle to get there, sit uncomfortably, miss part of the movie when you gotta go, and get annoyed by the other patrons.

Every morning I'd watch CNN
To know how life could end.

I'd imagine my last breath
When I see a victim of death.

As I watch more,
I figured what life was for.

It was all for love.

the act of watching tv is mainstream; as for the content watched.. well, that depends on the individual.

i tend to scope out local/world news, nba & animal/travel documentaries

Been waaay to busy for TV lately...I watch less then 2 hours of TV a week.

Now I just record a show (mostly Regular Show, Daily Show with Jon Stewart.)
Because who wants to sit through 10 mins of commercials...heck no.

If your talking about shows then it depends on the show, but TV as a whole is one of biggest forms of media, so ya i think its mainstream
