It's called patient autonomy. Regardless of whether or not it seems moral or immoral is beyond the point. If it is the wish of the patient, then you have to respect it.

It's the patients right to choose whether they want to be a Full Code or DNR. As well as the responsible party or the person who has medical power of attorney to decide if the patient is not capable to decide on their own. There wishes must be respected and followed through. But a R/P or medical power of attorney can void the DNR at any moment. Which has happened to me unfortuanately many times. Poor patient has already passed when the R/P changes their mind and says do everything you can. The sensation of ribs breaking underneath your palms is the most disgusting feeling ever. The adrenaline rush during a code blue is something I never get used too and after its finished I feel drained. I have had few survive the actual manual CPR, but their quality of life was way down. Defibrillator is different story.

Personally, I don't agree with the DNR order, so I am not going to have one. I do cherish my life, the one that my parents have given me. Even if I would be 'half dead" or a "vegetable" or whatever, I think that I would still choose to stay in this world with those who are precious to me, especially my parents. So what if I am not conscious anymore? What's really important to me is to be near my family, as I know that they will always be supporting me, and would be very sad if I am NOT in this world anymore. Even if it's an hour, a minute, or a second, I will stick with them xD.

But then, on topic (finally! Sorry for the personal opinion hehe ), I don't think that it's immoral because it's not like the doctor has forced the order on the patients right? They choose it on their own, they made their choice so yeah...But then, it's still wrong to invent such an order I think >__< (lol it's been already invented <_<; )...Just my 2 cents

Yeah. I would rather die. Waste money.
