because theyre like funny and dum....

80-100 mph max?

youre insane. Old cars had a crazy style that almost no car today could match until the recent revival of modern day muscle and pony cars. Everything's just round and bland...

until now!!!

do u mean that they r faster than this time cars or wut ?_?

Base V8 HP is rumored to be around 400 HP.

100 mph in 4th gear ;D

if there were no old cars then we wouldnt have cars at all they are the root of the designs of the cars now and also the basis of all the techno that comes into a car.

we learned that old cars werent safe so... we made safer cars...

we learned they were too slow... thus we made faster cars and goes on...

but basically in my opinion old cars should be respected cause without them... our cars right now would suck so badly

Old cars during the late 60's up to the early 80's aren't that bad. They're look cool, like the Mustang, Torino, TransAm, Camaro, and Trueno.

I agree with akumono, imagine without your "so-called" ugly old cars (which I do not agree) we would not have the cars we have now instead we would be having those ugly old now...
Anyone of you guys heard of the German V W Kubelwagen? I like that WW 2 relic well it's more of a jeep than a car but I like it...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_K%C3%BCbelwagen

plus this thing has an amphibious model too!!! :D

Apparently, many of you don't seem to appreciate the roots of classic car history.
Chevrolette Corvette "Stingray" (1967) Roadster

The 1967 roadster model was the favorite of most afficionados, and is also my personal favorite. Don't underestimate the engines of this time. They were demons, peaking in at close to 400bhp (depending on the model you got), with speeds that go well over 100mph.

In fact, many cars during this time could go at speeds well over the limit these days. Reason? Not that many cars on the road as today, and gas wasn't that expensive. That meant bigger engines, faster cars, and just more reason for people to believe "bigger, faster... better"

haha yeah before people cared to accept the theorys of pollution x]
If only we still had those days when they still made cars in late 60s to early 80s like plytmoth roadrunners, chevy Camaros/Chevelles, Mustangs, Shelby Cobras, etc.

Alot of other companies who had nice muscle cars like AMC which people don't even know of. -.-

Actually that reminds me of alot of hot foreign vehicles Datsun fairladyZ! I love the Datsun 260z <3

WRONG! Since your a pipspeek, old is usually around the 70's and back then the cars were lucky to even push 80!

Umm... plenty of '60s and '70s cars could break 100 without trouble, and many could go much higher than that. Those 350HP+ V8s weren't just for show.

Of course... I wouldn't WANT to do over 80 on '70s tires. The sheer lack of grip is stunning.

yeah seriously, watch the cars in youtube...........there will be a lot of good examples.

Old cars rock! Plus they can go real fast, like those v8's An example is the 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS. It had the most horsepower in the world in the 70's. here's some pics.
