First, I would buy a lot of potatoes.

Then, I'd probably try to find someone who knew a bit about building walls or large guns. If those two failed, I'd probably end up dying pretty quickly. I am not the smartest when it comes to dealing with gigantic flesh eating beings.

Btw... there is a rather huge thread already devoted to this show. In case your thread is locked, it's here:

Drive the hell away from the titans and wait for them to get bombed to death. Really, it would be incredibly easy for the US or any military to take them out. The main reason the titans are so terrifying in the show is they only have Victorian era level technology to fight them.

They seem pretty slow, with the current technology we can wipe them all out no time

As a manga reader, and I know ive mentioned this a bit but, this first arc of Attack on Titan is extremely slow even in the manga it was full of filler and unneccesary flashbacks that reveal character info that didnt warrent a flashback to tell us.
Thankfully. The arcs after this one are extremely good and redeem the manga wholeheartedly. The anime is adopting the slow nature of the arc (except, fun fact: the entire 'boot camp' scenes were all flashbacks that took place later in the manga, they obviously decided to put them in [mostly] chronologically in the anime and they did it very well!) hopefully if its going to stay true then it'll also get very thrilling in the future arcs.

Btw theres something interesting info you might like to know.
Apparently, in the japanese manga, the monsters are never refered to as titans, they're refered to by a japanese term 'eotoun' (or some varied phrase) refering to 'dumb, man-eating giant'. The translators seemed to adopt 'titan' because of the rough translation of the title, however many people feel its inaccurate as titans in greek mythology are intelligent, powerful elementals.

3-D Manuever Gear Blades
This is easy to tell in the manga but in the anime its harder to tell and they dont seem to have made an effort to explain this, so I'll share it now because its important in understanding why the human soilders are vunrable.
You know those long box shapes the military carry either side of their waist? They house 6 blades each, so each soldier carries 12 blades. In their hands they hold hilts/handles that loosely resemble bicycle-handles. The handles latch on to a blade and can be released just as easily. Living in the wall, humanity doesnt have access to high grade materials, instead they have an easy to manufature but tragically fragile metal they use for the blades. Realistically, just a single blade would be lucky enough to cut 2 titans without breaking, and considering the titans only weak spot, the soldiers can easily waste a blade if they miss. This is why they need to haul so many blades with them. The handle itself also steadies the wires the military uses to move around with their 3DMG, the cylinder on their backs holds the length of the wire, as well as the gas neccessary to project the wires.
