Pixar v.s. DreamWorks
Posted 5/11/13
DreamWorks has come to make some of my favorite animated films (Shrek 1 & 2, Prince Of Egypt, How To Train Your Dragon, the Kung Fu Panda movies), but Pixar has never failed to deliver other than Cars 2 and Brave. So Pixar for me.

And Pixar has those awesome shorts that play before the movie starts.

Both very good, but DreamWorks has been killing it recently. I didn't like Pixar's 2 recent movies, Brave and Cars 2. They just weren't satisfying. :/

DreamWorks seems unstoppable at the moment.

The Croods
Rise of the Guardians
Megamind
Kung Fu Panda
Madagascar
How to Train your Dragon

They're completely on a roll.

Rise of the Guardians was fantastic. Love that movie. I agree with Kippu. Dreamworks is really putting out some great work with edgy scripts, whereas Pixar is rehashing and feels somewhat tired. No doubt Pixar is a great animation studio and most likely always will be, but Dreamworks has the momentum at the moment.

Personally, I felt Pixar's The Incredibles was an interesting step for them. Really wish they would have followed up on it.

Prince of Egypt SUCKED, almost completely inaccurate, Moses was 40 years old when he did kill an Egyptian, but it wasn't an accident, and he didn't leave Egypt voluntarily, he was pursued by Pharoh's men, He didn't spend like only a year or two in Jethro's household, But was a shepherd for 40years and it was then that God, spoke to moses, so moses was about 80 years old before returning to Egypt as God' human representative and Aaron was moses spokesman, unlike what was seen in the movie, and the plagues, were alll smashed and switched around for dramatic effect, but if you read Exodus Chapters 5--12 This is the account of the " War of the Gods " and Moses & Aron where God's Spokesmen VS. Pharoh and the Gods of Egypt with the Sons of Israel's Freedom in the balance and to show Pharoh, as recorded in Exodus. 9:16, the rest of the movie loosely tells what happened, I was impressed with pixar's " showing the parting of the read sea.

As for all the other Dreamworks & pixar films, they were okay, because they were mostly fantasy based.

Sorry for going on and on about it, but Bible Based animated Movies tend to piss me of because they take liberties with the scriptures.

I did like " The Iron Giant " voiced by Vin Diesel, (Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black, & Fast and the Furious etc, etc, etc.)

Definitely Pixar. Each movie, except for Cars which I loooooooaaaaaaaathe and Brave which I haven't seen yet, has been a visually stunning with an equally great story.

Pixar by far.

Toy Story alone destroys DreamWorks' catalog.
The only one from DreamWorks that can stand up to Pixar
is How To Train Your Dragon, imo.

Ignoring the abomination that is Cars, Pixar has pretty much a flawless set of
animated movies that can't be compared to DreamWorks.

Cars 1 was a pretty good movie, but definitely the weakest Pixar film. Cars 2 just plain out sucked.
