You guys really can't just be a little more patient? I have to wait months, if not, a whole year for a new episode of Gundam Unicorn.
Keep your panties on.

I think everyone here needs a time out...

First of all, to those people who are raging at CR over this delay, the staff has already stated that it's a publisher side issue. That means that CR has no control over when they get the episode, so if you want to consume it legally you're going to have to wait.

Secondly, to those who are saying, "I wait a whole year for X anime to come out. Wtf is wrong with you people!" I think this is entirely the wrong sentiment to have with an issue like this. Yes, I agree that CR is not to blame. However, when people are paying for this service and it's not delivered on time, many will turn directly to piracy to get the episode since there is no delay on the Japanese broadcast and the fansubbers are still working on the show.

In the end, if you want to consume the show legally you'll have to wait. Yelling at CR staff isn't going to make the Japanese publishers go any faster. Crunchyroll knows it's in their best interest to get the episode to you as quickly as possible.

The fault lies with Attack on Titan itself. The previous week they delivered partial episodes to some stations in Japan and apologized for it. Sounds like they may have barely bade it in time for the Japanese stations this week but Attack on Titan is having real trouble keeping up with animating their show. If Crunchyroll doesn't get it early enough then it delays their release; Funimation is similarly delayed. You would think they could have hired enough people or outsourced the animation for the show. Very poor job by the production company having to work to the very last second to get the show out.

It sucks but there is nothing that Crunchy can do about it. I suspect they have translators sweating it out to get it translated and then people sweating it out to get it encoded in no time.

Last week the show had hardly any dialog anyways so the delay was much shorter than they originally anticipated, it was only 12 hours instead of 2 days as originally posted. This week it is about 1 day. For those of us that work it sucks as we can't watch at 9am PDT and will need to wait for tonight. Just can't be helped... sucks again but I am sure they are doing the best they can.

That said, we're working to get a stable release time so that this doesn't keep happening as we're just as upset about it as everyone else
.

That was enough.

I understand and have experience selling products and services to customers and the manufacturer(s)/vendor doesn't come through and it sucks - not gonna lie, what's worst is the seller/retailer are the ones that get bashed for something they can't control but do their best to remedy the problem and updating customers when information is available makes it reasonable and understandable. The FACT that CR stated what the problem was and that they are doing what they can to fix it, is reasonable & understandable enough for me to wait for and go watch a different title or do something else with my life in the meantime.

but...I haven't frequented the forum on here in a while until I saw this.

With all due respect,
These people...that are QQ'ing hardcore about an episode not being released on time, speaking about not getting "what they are paying for?" (despite CR stating that they realize the problem and are addressing it) I really doubt that these people fail to possibly realize that what are you really are paying is for supporting high quality LEGAL streams, what these people are QQ'ing about is 1...ONE! episode that wasn't released on time. Don't think they also realize that there are 31 other SIMULCAST titles for you to watch in this "unbearable" downtime waiting for this episode?

Basically you're paying $7 a month(anime only membership) to LEGALLY watch 32 simulcast anime titles available for this season.

The price of a fastfood combo meal.

1 series out of 32 simulcast titles on top of the 200+ available titles for you to watch at $7 a month; and some of these people can't chill, making it out to be like it's "nah man I can't DUDE i'm gonna die cause ATTACK ON TITAN IS NOT AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW DUDE I PAID MONIES FOR THIS BRO, I CANT HANDLE THEM STEALING MY MONEY AND NOT DELIVERING BRO! THEY BE HUSTLING US MAN THEY ARE THE SYSTEM MAN! ILLUMINATI BRO!"

Idk overall I find it just not that serious to continue to bash on CR when obviously it' not their fault despite how many QQ angles you try to get at.

Now I'm just not feeling my mini-rant in defense of CR anymore, maybe this might be an opportunity to offer monthly membership for select titles only idk.

chinabean, we are paying for a service and if something goes wrong with that people do have the right to complain, and maybe even a refund if it goes on for too long. Some people might just be here to watch Attack on Titan legally and it's a little annoying to see so much talk about the episode that hasn't even been streamed here yet. That said this is very much not crunchyrolls fault and there's really not point getting angry at them when there's nothing they could have done about it. Aside from as people have said, made news about the delay more visible.

Legal services such as this are always going to be at a disadvantage to fansubbers and it's not fair to compare them like that. It's not fair to the industry or even yourself to go running off to to the fansubbs at the first sign of trouble. Not fair to yourself if you enjoy anime and would like for it to keep being released.

Hey guys, what about the fact that this anime is flippin' awesome, and when it's over we'll have a "titan" sized hole in our hearts. The longer each episode takes the longer we have to look forward to an epic show. It's not the end of the world when an episode is delayed, but it is the end of the world when a great anime comes to an end!

It's a hard wait but hey it's not CRs fault so what's the point in flaming, I'm holding out just to see that sweet full HD action

Think a few people are taking this way too serious and out of perspective.

We know what the issue is and that its totally out of CR's hands. Typing in capitals on a forum or having the great "legal streaming vs privacy" debate isn't going to change the fact that its a third party who's responsible.

It does seem like the staff on Attack on Titan are pretty much overwhelmed at the moment so the least you can do if you have any intention of supporting them and the anime itself is waiting for it to come out on CR.

So it missed the time scale again. If some people's Sundays really revolve around waiting for a 24 minute anime to come out then you might need your head checking.

Call your parents, take your dog for a walk, play some video games, meet up with that one friend you haven't talked to in a while and just chill out and have a life.

Wow Crunchyroll, you're pulling another bullshit again. WTF? What the actual fuck? I bought a year of subscription and this is the second year. They might not be a third year. I'm just gonna watch anime on websites that provide it for free.

I love the way half of you guys seem to think crunchyroll is sitting in some lab chair with a cat laughing maniacally at our pain... I bet you any money crunchyrolls been in contact with the suppliers frequently to see how long it'll be so they can get the episode to us ASAP.

I just finished watching the episode on a bootleg site, thanks crunchyroll. How come fansubbers got an episode 6 of Attack of Titan available to watch?

Right. Because fansubbers wait for the licensor to give them the video file...
