Post Reply Do you think Yoko Ono is really one of the major reasons, if not the reason, why the Beatles disbanded on 1970?

There are indeed a lot of commentators who claim that Yoko caused the split of the Beatles but I think the reason is the members' differences (personal or otherwise) that became more pronounced in their later years. Also, around this time (late 60s), it seems that John and Paul, the group's leaders, regard each other as rival. Thus with the unity of the Band destroyed, it's apparent that the only path they would take, and in fact had taken, is disbandment (although it was Paul who first bolted from the group).

oh... then yoko's the just a secondary reason then...

what's with Paul ? they've been together for quite some time.. they've become friends..
it's but natural to disagree with one another sometimes... and have differences..

I think it was. I'm reading a Paul is Dead book and it mentions that during the White album recordings she was there the whole time sitting on the speakers giving comments and criticizing and that Lennon broke the rule about bringing people in during recording...so yeah she was one of the reasons I believe.

John has been quoted several times as saying:
*I started this group.I disbanded. That's all there is to it.*

And,Paul as saying:
*Well,it was John's group.He started.He ended it.*

I think the group fell apart for many reasons.

I agree with you on that yakumoandmushra. It would really be unfair to blame Yoko for the decision of the group to split. The Beatles have their own minds to think for themselves. It would be an insult, I think, to the members of the Beatles to say that they split in Yoko because that would make them appear as incapable of making decision for themselves.

Honestly, I think that they wanted to go their seprate ways..... I know that George wanted more of his songs on the albums, John had more of a rocker spirit, while Paul was more melodic.... Ringo wanted more credit......I've always been told that's how it happened, and it makes sence to me. Also, I think that real Beatles fans should like Yoko... after all she was SO important to John.
