Inuyasha would be the main one that I dislike. Maybe it's because I felt annoyed by Kagome for most of the time, she was so whiny about everything, and found it long and drawn out. Also when I watched it, I preferred Kikiyo to Kagome, and apparently that's a no-no.

Love Hina - This series really annoyed me.

Fruits Basket --> The reason why I don't like Fruits Basket isn't necessarily because of the series it's self, but because I had a friend who was obsessed with it ,and before I could watch an episode would spoil it for me to the point where I just gave up watching it. Now every time I go back to watch this show, I find myself hating it.

Am I the only one who actually likes Gintama?

Ahem. *waving hands around*

I can't stand any harem anime. There's no romance. Just garbage.

As for shows, I can't stand:
Bleach, Naruto, and Dragon Ball Z.

Each one suffers madly from Ken Burns Effect & time-stretching.

The first few seasons of Naruto featured enough time-wasting flash backs to spread every conflict out for 3-4 episodes.

Bleach cannot be watched if you cover up the characters' mouths and turn off the volume. Every character is on one plane and they just slowly drift to the side or zoom in/out for minutes at a time.

Dragon Ball Z was considered poorly animated and padded out when it was the only action anime on TV 20 years ago. Now everyone has hundreds of shows that they can watch at any time. Dragon Ball became a monologue-filled Magical Girl show and removed most of the cuteness and fun. Why bother when you have so many better shows to watch.

OT: I'm many years behind. Does One Piece still have "Ya Old Geezah", "Ho Ho Ho Hoi!", and "Yayo Yayo~!" in the dubs?

Am I the only one whose most negative reaction is ambivalence? I don't think there is any anime or show that someone could bring up and I would respond with, "I can't stand that, get it away from me!"

One Piece: I was expecting an off-the-wall crazy shonen action series in the same vein as the Violence Hero Riki-Oh! manga. What did I get? The most boring twenty episodes of any shonen action show I have ever seen. Seriously, how do people watch this? Now I have heard that it gets better at the episode 50 mark, but that is WAY too much time for me to invest into something for it to get good when there are many shows that are good right from episode 1 that I could be watching instead.

Sword Art Online: This show is very mediocre. Based on the hype I was getting beforehand, I was expecting the greatest thing ever, and instead I got a poorly written, uninteresting, wanta-be pult scifi romp through a land full of boring characters, incestuous romance, and mediocre-at-best storytelling. Why this is as popular as it is, I will never know.

Final Fantasy Unlimited: Now lets face it, the games suck. Seriously, all of the Final Fantasy games that I have played were unbalanced, boring, and long as hell. So I wasn't expecting much from Final Fantasy Unlimited, hell, I wasn't even planning on watching it, however after a huge amount of cries from Final Fantasy fans that "This is the greatest show ever OMGOMG SHIIIIEEEET MAEK MORE DAMMIT!" I decided to watch it. I'm convinced that I got trolled. There is nothing good about this show. At all. Seriously, from the moment you first see that shitty CG train, until you see the end of the first episode, you will want to slit your own throat.

Elfen Lied: This dumb, pointless trash is boring, gory for the sake of being gory, unpleasant, and annoying as hell. Almost every character is poorly written, with the only exception being Lucy, who is still not good enough to save the series as a whole. The amount of pointless nudity, unrealistic gore, and poorly done action, makes this painful to get through. Now this might seem odd considering I kind of liked Kite, which has a lot of the same problems. However, there is one thing that makes Kite better than Elfen Lied, its length. Kite is an OAV, and as such, it is pretty damn short. Elfen Lied on the other hand has 13 episodes, WAY too many for this kind of show. If Elfen Lied was compressed into 2 or 3 episodes, that mostly focus on Lucy and that idiot main male character whose name I have forgotten, then I think Elfen Lied could have been great. Lets face it, if Kite was 13 episodes, it probably would have sucked too.

The worst thing any show can do is bore me. Fate/Zero, Death Note, Bleach, FLCL, and Neon Genesis Evangelion come to mind as shows that I found myself looking at my watch after a while or left me with the sense of hours of my life were just wasted.
Since there's so much formula in Anime, so there has to be something about a show that grabs and keeps my interest, either in the storytelling, character development, animation, character design, soundtrack or preferably all of the above. The great thing about it is that there is such a wide range of quality shows of all genres over time (as measured in years), there's something for every taste. And you will perhaps find as I have that some of those tastes change and continue to do so, over the years (as measured in decades)

Clannad. I still don't understand how people could like this series so much (and I don't think I ever will). Too much melodrama that makes you cry way too much, incompatible couple, and a terrible ending. It is still the most overrated anime I have ever seen to this day (and probably always will be).

"I don't see why people enjoy this!" It gets old very fast along with the aburdity of obnoxious crazed hardcore fans. Not everyone is like that and thankfully some of the fans are NOT like that.

fandoms tend to alienate me more than the shows themselves...

i can enjoy most things for what they are.

if i had to say it'd probably be whatever major pure fanservicy show is popular right now, not all that fond of those.
