So as I've lived my life so far, pretty comfortable as a loner, I've noticed in my friends and on the internet a need for a relationship. Hell, right now on this forum there are threads that are related to this topic, like what someone wants out of a bf/gf. So I must ask for the sake of my curiosity, what makes dating so special thst everyone wants in on it?

Oh and I'm not trying to be edgy or anything like that.

But doesn't going to a bar/club and doing a one night.stand achieve just that?

^This! Although date nights do get pricey if you tend to take her out to eat

Yeah, that also achieves STDs.... and a feeling of regret in the morning.

I felt that same way before I got into my first relationship. I honestly can't remember how it feels, though. It's a different world after you discover dating. At least with someone you like who it's mutual with, I'd think.

For me, it was sort of like discovering a new part of myself. New weaknesses and strengths and a side of me I didn't even know about beforehand. Once you get into it, it's difficult for things to go back to what they were before. Just my two cents, although I admit I'm being vague. Don't know how to say it any other way.

While it's vague, it's still better than saying "Oh you'll know when it happens". Kudos for trying to put it into words, it seems more difficult than I was expecting.

Dating is expensive if your a dude, I recommend that if you dont have a good paying job or you dont SUPER love her, just dont do it. A good dinner to an ok restaurant will easily go over 80 bucks, plus if you hit a club that will be waaaay more. And if you get one of those possessive chicks man your in for a good one xD youll get mad texts like "Where are you?" "why dont you call", "who are you with?" "aren't you coming today?" "I'm off can you pick me up?" "Your late" "we never go out"

Condoms have an antiregret function?

To an extent. I can't speak for anyone else but I would certainly regret it less if I walked away STD free.

Well this thread took away a little bit of respect I have for humanity. I never wanted to date someone for sex. That is definitely an added bonus but not the whole thing.
