Relationships (and dating) are simply crutches to weak individuals who can't stomach facing life and life's questions alone. It is a pathetic attempt to be validated, and a feeble attempt to verify the love you should have for yourself based on the wants and desires of another individual. Weak minded simpletons who can't find the ability to take care of themselves fully and completely.

I'm just joshing with ya.

Relationships are for humans. That should answer it all.

Dating is special because you hope that the person you currently like will be your soul mate. <3 we are looking for love or companionship no matter how much you try to deny it. I'm also a loner, introvert and anti-social but I know this feeling of meeting your significant other and I love people (and yet I want to be alone, complicated much?).

I don't understand why threads like these exist. Either it is special to you or it isn't.

Arguing with each other, fighting each other, having fun together, getting to know each other deeply, loving each other and most of all is accepting the way this one is.

Just do what I do.
Buy a photo frame and keep the original picture in the frame.
If you get into an argument with her, print out a new one from google images and start over.

The best part for me is being close to someone I really like in general regardless of whether or not it works out in the end. I kept telling myself that, after breaking up with my last, I wanted my next to be the one for me (I do believe that if there is one of me, there is one person who compliments me the best.) But I realized that whether they are or aren't is out of my control, because I have to grow, and in that growth, there will probably be many others I meet up until I finally meet that one. Also, I really don't feel like waiting for maybe YEARS before getting laid again if I can help it, and I don't want any flings or one-night stands.

I don't mean to imply that one ever stops growing. I am saying that the right person should probably be able to grow WITH you (no pun intended..lmao.) However, I do think people have to grow out of the bullshit they're taught first before they can really know themselves. Once you know yourself, you can get to know the people who are right FOR YOU.

Lastly, I do think people need relationships. But I think they need other things to get to them. It's like getting 100 gold coins before making it to the princess in a video game. What's wrong with needing someone who needs you back?

Dating is expensive if your a dude, I recommend that if you dont have a good paying job or you dont SUPER love her, just dont do it. -

Dude see this is the thing.
If you think of your girl as just another expense that's why you're not gonna enjoy a relationship.
Hell, if you have to find a chick that's cool with going half.
Gotta find the strong points not the weak.

Hmm pretty well said; must be another biologist perhaps. I still hold that our "oversized" brains breaks us from the stereotypical molds common in nature. We are social animals and many other creatures with small brains still form tight social ties to assist the species as a whole even when they are not direct relatives. I'm not disputing your comment...I just think it is a complicated phenomenon that we don't fully understand yet.

Well... Human beings are social creatures. Everyone needs a "relationship" with someone (or something if you're into inanimate/imaginary things), but whether it is a romantic one or a common one is different.

Personally, I love one girl I have known since I was 11. She's the only person that I've ever felt a desire to have an intimate relationship with. The only bad part is that I'm moving away with family, and us trying to have a future together is nearly impossible.

That being said, I won't ever give up hope. It doesn't mean that I go out openly looking for another person to have that sort of relationship with... I mean, I have anime, video games, and some damn good friends to spend my time with.

Actually... I just don't stress about it too much. If it isn't going to be, it isn't going to be. There are some things in reality that you just can't change.

Anywho, between work, friends, anime, video games, and conventions... I'd say life is pretty decent at best-- with or without that "special someone".
