most likely. Though for me to consider such a thing they'd need to agressively expand their library :p

Well if you sign up to Daisuki you can get full HD. It's free btw.

I've had an account since shortly after they launched. I thought I was signed in from earlier today, but checking again verified I had been signed out. After signing in the 720p and 1080p options appeared.

I really like how the site looks, maby when they get some more anime on there, I'll use it some more. Although, I still think crunchyroll is better at the moment. The site has a lot of potential and looks great. I hope they continue improving and adding series to their library

Gundam ZZ is already gone? Most unfortunate, though, if You Tube still has it, all is well.

All the Gundam series are MIA on the Daisuki site itself, but are still available on their YouTube site until the 4th. It is unclear if the series will disappear on the 4th, or be available through the 4th, as well as if it is the 4th in Japan (which would come much earlier than in the US).

If they go "poof" as soon at 12;01 AM on July 4th in Japan, that would be 11:00 AM EDT tomorrow (July 3) in the US.

That would give me a bit less than 12.5 hours to view the remaining 22 episodes of Gundam ZZ.

Thankfully, I've gotten past the point where it seemed to be trying unsuccessfully to be a comedy and it has turned back more toward being a proper Gundam series.

All their shows today are delayed until the 30th for security reasons. Did they leak something again?

Are these all Aniplex shows? It wouldn't be surprising if someone among the Aniplex production committees insisted that they "do something" about the ripping of Diasuki's streams.

Though its not as the RAWs are hard to find, so the rip is only actually grabbing the Diasuki subtitle.

This could be a side effect of the big anti-piracy push, where supposedly 580 bootleg manga and anime sites are going to get C&D requests, while the Japanese set up a site to direct people to legal sources of anime for their country.

Yes, just the Aniplex shows, all of them. M3 ran on time on Monday.

Hopefully this doesn't bite Crunchyroll as well as I hear their subs get ripped early and often as well.

As you say, for folks in Japan the raws are out faster anyway and they don't want subs so I'm not sure why they are worried about these when TV rips are readily available.

But you could be right with that big push on, perhaps raws and fansubs will be harder to obtain in future. The war is on...

Google is first and foremost a business. They'll filter the sites to the extent they have to, but if the industry wants them to flip the search so that legit sites are at the top, they'll have to pay through the nose for the privilege.

One thing that could be done would be to pool efforts.

Its quite easy to spider a leech stream for all of its episodes, and find out what actual video streaming sites the videos are contained on. And the leech streaming site has no control over whether that content stays up, since they are stealing bandwidth from free video streaming sites ... all they can do is to re-upload the content after its been taken down.

If the companies pooled their efforts, they could pick a random 20 leech streaming sites a day and before the day was out over half of their content would go dark. And at the same time, because leech streaming sites constantly steal links from other sites, whenever they did that big holes would appear in the catalogs of a lot of other leech streaming sites.

Also, the more work that the free upload sites have to do in taking down the uploads that violated their Terms and Conditions, the more incentive they have to find ways to prevent that bandwidth freeloading by the leech streaming sites.

The historical pattern has been that these kind of delays happen when there are leaks before the scheduled streaming time, as opposed to rips after the scheduled streaming time. If there are any concerns regarding rips after the scheduled streaming time, through, it wouldn't be surprising if that appears in the form of a member of a production committee insisting on a later streaming date.

However, it may be that Crunchyroll and Daisuki would still get treated differently.

Two differences between the two are, first, Crunchyroll's streams appear to be sub-licensed from Aniplex of America as a regional licensee, while Daisuki's streams are directly under the authority of Aniplex of Japan as a primary licensor, so Crunchyroll has one extra layer of buffering between it and the production committee ... and a second difference is that, given Crunchyroll's subscriber base and per view royalties, it actually generates a useful amount of royalty income for its most popular shows, which also give it more weight than the direct company stream through the Daisuki joint venture, where there is no obvious way that they are monetizing what they are doing.

So one, the other, or both might buy Crunchyroll some added protection from being hassled over rips.

They did a site redesign this summer ... when they started a couple years ago they organized the anime by publisher, which was confusing, but they upgraded to let you sort them by series a little while after launch, and now the sort by publisher is just a side option.

Still a limited selection, and the only one they had I wanted to watch that wasn't on Crunchyroll was M3, which was on Viki. And since Viki has an Android app, I watch that on my tablet.
