I don't see them lasting unless they fix their site anyway.

I mean the UK Animeondemand has a better site than this.

It appears that the region restrictions were an error. Madoka and SAO aren't region locked anymore. Sadly, Lupin still is.

It seems that the Aniplex shows are available to Latin America now. Great news! Also it was strange that SAO would be blocked here.

But Lupin III is still blocked in my country.

I think people should give Daisuki a month before they start condemning them. Now that some shows have unlocked for some EU and Latin America as well it seems regions it shows that they are serious about making it work. If it hasn't made some library additions and some site overhaul by then you can start to worry.

Given the year that one came out, the popularity of Lupin III in some places, that one is likely to be real license entanglements. For instance, if Animax Latin America had an option on the series before they switched format, they are not likely to hand it back in ~ rather, they are likely to just let those rights expire when they expire.

We'll see whether its that or strategy by TMS as TMS gets some more recently produced content up.

The Company may temporarily suspend the provision of the Service without notice in any of the following circumstance:

the Service can no longer be provided due to a fire, a power failure, an earthquake, a volcanic eruption, flooding, a tsunami, a war, a disturbance, a riot, civil commotion, a labor dispute or any other event of force majeure.

^-^ sometimes reading the term and conditions can put a smile on your face.

They forgot alien invasion or the Apocalypse, though i suppose the Apocalypse would fall under force majeure.

Such terms are common. For example, from the Crunchyroll terms of service:

Force Majeure.

Crunchyroll will not be liable to you by reason of any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations hereunder on account of events beyond its reasonable control, which may include, without limitation, denial-of-service attacks, strikes, shortages, riots, insurrection, fires, flood, storm, explosions, acts of God, war, terrorism, governmental action, labor conditions, earthquakes, material shortages, failure of the internet or extraordinary connectivity issues experienced by major telecommunications providers and unrelated to Crunchyroll infrastructure or connectivity to the internet or failure at an Crunchyroll co-location facility (each a "Force Majeure Event"). Upon the occurrence of a Force Majeure Event, Crunchyroll will be excused from any further performance of its obligations effected by the Force Majeure Event for so long as the event continues, and for such further period of time that Crunchyroll may reasonably require to recover from the effects of such Force Majeure Event.

Seriously though, it means all the people demanding refunds when Crunchyroll can't put Attack on Titan up on time due to material delays should read that paragraph. They will be disappointed.

So much potential, but I'd have to get a PC! Clicked through as I was so excited to finally see Madoka Magica: 'your device is not supported' (iPad). Will keep an eye on it for future compatibility, but no way I'll be convincing hubby to give me the laptop so I can 'watch cartoons'! Personally I'm pleased it's pay per show: I can keep my CR subscription and just look for older shows I'd like to catch up on on Daisuki. I wonder if it will mean more competition for CR to get rights to new shows in future seasons?

The site has just lunched but I've already registered and so far
pluses:
+worldwide availability
+free (I don't mind if there will be also paid shows, but offering free shows with commercial is always good thing)
+probably all new titles will be worldwide too
minuses
-it doesn't work on Linux and opera browser
-no HD
-no shows catalog

An Alien Invasion would qualify as a war, so that's explicitly covered in the exclusions. And I reckon the Apocalypse would be multiple force majeure's, piled up upon each other.

I guess AnimeSols has Daisuki beat on the iPad / Android / Linux front, with its html5 streaming.

But I had a bet with quarkboy that Daisuki would have broad streaming access, so I'm happy that they sorted out the Aniplex title availability.
