Girls, what do you think when a guy calls you, baby
Posted 5/17/13
So yeah, I have a friend who call to all his girls friends (not particularly in relationship) baby, honey, sweetie... just by curiosity, what do you think if we, guys call you like that? what would be your reaction?

Wheew... Unimaginable! I gotta try it out. :p But i do react negatively if i see another guy say baby to someone. (Though it doesn't happen often, girls who say it to guys, never happened to me.) xD

I call only a few certain special girls "babe" or "love". I don't ever use any others but I also make sure and know that the few I do use those two names for are completely cool with it. Usually it's only joking around too. I think I would feel like a creeper if I called a lot of girls those things.

For me, it usually means that I'm being patronized, or there's loads of sarcasm. Why? The guys that call me "honey" or "sweetie" are usually my father and stepdad. Mostly my stepdad, and that's when he thinks I did something stupid, or he's about to ask me a favor that's actually more of a demand. Also, a few uncles will call me "honey" and "sweetie," and they never say it in a negative way. Very rarely am I called any of those kinds of names by males other than those I mentioned. If I don't know them well, especially if I don't like them, it creeps me out when guys call me those sort of nicknames. I view them in a very personal light, so it feels violating when they're said without my consent-- Particularly "baby." That goes for when women say them, too.

In other words, I will inwardly recoil if I don't know and/or don't like the person, and I will continuously have my guard up around them until I enjoy their company.

If I don't know you and I was called that, be prepared to deal with my demonic side. Which has happened plenty before. lol Kept them away for good.

I guess I wouldn't mind if it were my fiance to call me that, but it's just not his style anyway.

For me, I see it as an indicator of how the person really is by how they use it. Usually, them using that word gives it away instantly. And those are not worth my time. So they shouldn't bother in the first place.

lol I wouldn't know I will have those kind of answers XD my friend's personality is really open, but he only calls like this to his friends not to strangers. Me, I wouldn't call to my girls friends like that because they might feel uncomfortable.
