Boring TV!?

I watched Mythbusters for a week straight and it was glorious! Well that and other Discovery channel shows. I didn't even have to share a room so I had that thing on day and night. That and I really liked watching the snow fall onto the rooftops.

Lucky! During my stays I usually got to choose between Deadliest Catch marathons (no Mythbusters marathon for me, sigh) or Food Network for the most part, and when you can't eat, Food Network.. doesn't work so well.

Yea there was no way I would have gone with the Food Network. I was on a clear liquid diet and that broth was nasty. I only drank the mini cans of pop and ate the jello. The day I was finally able to have real hospital food is the same day I went home. There was pizza and it was the best pizza ever at the time. Deadliest Catch isn't so bad though. Not the best but it could have been much worse I suppose.

Only once. I sprained my right knee. However, I was only there for like an hour or two.

I try to avoid going to the hospital. I don't like that place. Makes me glad that I'm healthy. Plus, the hospital bill would be painfully expensive, even with insurance.

I've been there a few times. Sprained my leg falling off the fridge (I don't remember the actual fall, though), fractured toe, x-rays for scoliosis, and visiting my dad when he broke his leg. ;P I never had to eat hospital food, so I guess I'm lucky in that regard?

Yes, nothing serious though.

However, hospitals seem to be negligent... they don't check patients thoroughly. The last time I went there was for a bacterial infection in my tonsils, I knew there was something severely wrong with me, because I kept getting fevers even though I took paracetemol.

I went there, they checked up and just say it's a normal fever and wanted me to go home. I was ready to go home, then I coughed up blood. That was when they knew it was serious, put me on IV antiobiotic and I had to stay there for 2 nights.

I could have gotten home and die.

I've been to a hospital for a hairline fractured wrist and some hairline fractured knuckles. I've also had my appendix removed and blood sugar tests every year.

I was hospitalized for 3 months when i was 3 years old, all of a sudden i stopped breathing, one thing led to another and it ended with me left in a vegetative state, from which i thankfully recovered...a long and hard road to recovery, i'm sure, even though i have no memories of any of it.

Most recently, i don't know if it counts or not, but i had to visit the ER 2 years ago because all of a sudden i started developing a rash accompanied by a fever which turned out to be chicken pox. A very painful experience, thankfully i didn't get much in the way of scarring :\

Other then that, i'am a frequent visitor to the hospital due to my father's health, i've visited the hospital way too many times then i'd like to since 2002, most recently being this past monday when he was in for an hernia repair surgery.

i would rather go to a private practice that specializes in whatever im feeling ill in health.... johns hopkins hospital is good i volunteered at a hospital ( was lame and boring shoudlve went to biotech intern or banking internship ) and the service and infrastructure of the hospital was very crappy, the hospital said on its advertisement it was all about service ...dam lie... the infrastructure of the healthcare industry should be changed i saw a lot of sick people that oculdve been in a far better condition if we had more communication between hospitals and personalized medicine... i dont reccomend going to a hospital less its an emergency... only good hospital ive seen is john hopkins... sometimes patients that dont really have serious problems take up a lot of doctors time when their are serious patients that are very sick not geting the time with doctor needed becuase a 17 year old girl is getting an uneccasary breast implant to make boobs bigger instead of the women with breast cancer getting a surgery wich is really sad... ton of problems in healthcare industry which government and people might see but arent doing anything about and just makes me mad a lil... like how the u.s. produces 2 times as much food as it can consume but we still have people starving cuz the goverment locks tons of food in ships and lets it spoil to control prices...

I haven't been admitted to a hospital since I was in Kindergarten and I broke my right arm(I always wrote with my right hand until I broke my right arm and then I found out I was actually a lefty ) My parents are doctors in NYU though so I do come a lot to wait for them to get outta work so I know the hospital pretty well.

There are good physicians and there are many bad bad physicians. Don't trust someone just because they have an md. There are a lot of idiots who slip through the cracks as well as some really smart ones with bad ulterior motives.

I agree, i think when they meet up with the patients they just want to get it over with asap. some doctors need more sympathy xD and geeze, you know when you cough up blood thats not a good sign.. good thing they knew about that

Glad you're alive man!

oh and to reply to the topic, i've been to the hospital for about seven surgeries to try to correct my minor Cerebral Palsy which affects my way of walking but it didn't help all that much, at least... i think. I also visited a lot when my brother had a congenital adhesion in his intestines which is no fun o.o
