One time I had to go to the hospital was when I unfortunately had an Asthma attack when I was 8 or so I believe. Apparently I was out for the whole night.

And I suppose this counts but I got some work experience from a hospital as well!

Went once when I dislocated my knee the first time, and because they insisted on drugging me up it was miserable. Not that having a kneecap totally out of socket was bad enough, but I'm waiting on the doc and the nurse asks me if I want any painkillers.

I've never relied on medicine, whether it be Tylenol or anything of the sort, I normally just ride it out. So I refuse, and she returns to ask again. I refuse again, and am getting annoyed with her continuing to ask. She comes around a 3rd time and finally I get frustrated and just tell her to do it. Believe it or not the dislocation doesn't hurt all that much, it just always looks worse than it is. I figure this is because you loose feeling once the dislocation occurs and the shock the body goes through kicks in, but I digress.

So anyways, she injects something in me, I don't even know what it is. And I get extremely drowsy and very irritated, probably because I can't sleep like I want to but can't fight it. Eventually I got to the point of hallucinating, but because I had to use crutches things got worse. Having to operate crutches with my body ready to pass out was also bad. I did finally get home and slept for like 14 hours, but it was miserable all around.

I remember my mother being really pissed at me too. Apparently ambulance rides are pricey, and as they normally did, my parents always put money over concern for my and my siblings well being. But I haven't been to a hospital since.

I'm not a fan. They feel depressing to me, and that sterile smell is bad.

I assume we're all relating overnight or more type stays, because I've been in the hospital a bajillion times over my lifetime...or maybe some other more realistic number.

age 19 - overnight for bleeding
age 19 - 3 nights - 1st birth
age 20 - 2 nights - 2nd birth
age 20 - overnight for illness
age 21 - 3 nights - 3rd birth
age 21 - in-and-out - tubal ligation
age 25 - 4 nights - 4th birth

Haven't been in for myself in 2 years, of course there's been plenty of trips for reasons like asthma, allergies, kids (even overnight trips there) so I've been in quite a few times.

Last year I broke the most important part of the bone in my ankle.
The doctors kept saying it was just sprained.
They took an x-ray and sent me home.
They called the next day and said I needed to come back into the hospital, when we checked in, EVERY doctor and nurse knew my name. An hour after we got there, my doctor said I needed a very complicated surgery to fix my ankle, but then he changed his mind and just put it in a cast.
3/4 months later I was given the all clear to walk again, two weeks later I was allowed to run, and 1 week after that, I won my school Athletics Competition, so I guess it worked out perfectly :D
But one thing I learned is that hospitals smell awful!

I'm assuming not for visiting or misc purposes, but for medical problems.

I've been to the ER 7 times?
one of these accidents was an infected dog bite, white required me to visit the hospital for wound cleaning everday for 2months, the every other day for 2weeks.
1 (isolated) ICU stay for 3 nights.
1 4night stay for broken foot.
I had went once for a full cardio/respiratory test/checkup thingy.

and no i don't mind them too much... i get a bit bored of it on the 2nd night, and it's kinda tough to watch some nurses treat the older patients rather poorly... actually.. i think i don't like them

Well the last time I was in hospital was when I was 7 years old (that would make 11 years from now) and never went again. I'm quite healthy. Only occasional cold in the winter. some people claim that I'm just lucky but I guess it's thanks to my parents that accustomed me to healthy and nutritious food and to exercise a lot.
