when people reach their 4th year or 3rd year of high school... most people wants to go to universities or colleges to continue studying...

what course are you going to take and why?

was it your choice or your parents pushed you to that choice?? if u were pushed to take that choice do you love it??

are you going to take a specialiation of that course? like be a masteral or doctoral of that course or not??

when i was still in high school my choice was to be a medical doctor specializing is anesthesia...

but my dad told me to take BSNursing for my pre-med instead of taking BSBiology..
i came to learn to love it but it took me months to appreciate it...

after ward il take masteral in BSNursing if i dont get to continue Medicine....

wheew! and thats gonna take a LOT of work..

Though you'll get the upper hand in terms of techniques, you'll die in terms of academics, since many of the biology majors will have the upper hand.

Nurses get the edge of experience and technique, as well as pharmacologic concepts ... biology majors get the edge in terms of biochemical, physiological, and anatomical concepts ~ basically most of the core principles of medicine.

I think you'd be better off taking BS Biology, since majority of the courses in medicine (at least the first few years) are heavy in the sciences. Pharmacology, and the other techniques won't be tackled until your latter years, where it's everyone elses' ball game.

Take it from my batchmates who graduated with a degree in Nursing... they're having a hard time...

But that's not to discourage you. Nurses still have the advantage in terms of technique and practical skill. You can pretty much say that's where you can make up for it.

As far as specialization goes, I'm planning on entering Nephrology... if not, maybe Radiology or Cardiopulmonology... I'm still in my 5th year Med Proper, so I've got a long way to go...

^ Actually... the world needs doctors... many doctors (at least here) are turning in to nurses, where they earn twice as much abroad (in the states)... It's really sad...

That's good to hear.

Strangely enough, medical biochemistry can be somewhat frustrating... It's as if you forgot everything you learned in college, and you're re-learning it again in med school...

tsch...

But it is something to look forward to. Med school has it's surprises, and I've recently been blessed to see the delivery of 3 new born babies from the delivery room... Does it make me want to become an obstetrician?

Hell no.

I've always wanted to be an Anime artist. I'm good, but compared to the drawings of most Anime out there I'd be better at sulking in a corner. But I'm learning a lot so I have a good chance at it.
