Jojo's Bizarre Adventure should be on the list. One of the best series for 2012.

Btw OP, are you referring FMA as the original series here or Brotherhood? The two has great differences. I personally didn't enjoy FMA that much. However, since you're referring to series that are in the old school days, I assume it would also be the original FMA being referenced here.

Yes, and I said I made this list off the top of my head so you can go ahead and compare more anime and see for yourself.

I find modern anime to be just as good as the old stuff. That's not to say I don't respect what series like Evangelion and Sailor Moon did for anime. But I'd much rather sit down and marathon Raildex over them both any day.

i feel like the OP is getting more bashing(scrutinizing) than deserved

as I always enjoy adding a hidden undertone beneath my comments, i'll just make this one simple:

remember there will always be gems in the forest of boobs and butts so quality will never degrade over time, only quantity of quality

I dono about mardock scramble not to take anything away from rune but macross: do you remember love rapes mardock up the ass harder >.>

lol what? I think this is a good thread the comparisons are a bit off but old v new is a good topic

edit: i wanted to make the argument that anime had a radical shift when anime was aired in widescreen versus fullscreen

I don't know why people like berserk anime so much but they do, and this anime is considered a "classic."

I honestly think people do not understand the meaning of "classic"

Also the issue of talking about Dragonball Z (great series) but how many can say "I watched Dragonball" I do not know why people are comparing old v new when many of us have not seen nearly as much old anime than new. I will admit myself my ratio of old v new is skewed towards new.

I try to refrain from comparing and contrasting the two types, because "old" animes set the groundwork for "newer" animes to build upon.

now your idea of quality is ambiguous and I'll just interpret it as an overall summation; with that said, I would pick the "newer animes"

why? because of PLOT:
Hey..where's that...plot...from? Thanks!

@Topic: I don't know but I guess I like both newer anime and the older anime just fine.
