Halo TV Series reveal > Xbox One reveal.

That about sums up how I feel about it.

I watched the presentation live and it was a major let down. I'm a gamer first and foremost, and it seems like Microsoft in this reveal considers us an afterthought. I don't even have cable or satellite tv, why the heck would I want the new Xbox. From a gamer's perceptive it seems to do less than the PS4 in regard to gaming.

They did say E3 would have a lot more information, but meh. After seeing that reveal today, if I buy a console this generation it'll be a PS4.

That was the biggest showing of nothing ever. They just presented me with features that I wont even touch. I just want to play games. That's it and not to mention that a fee will be required to play used games. You can't even borrow a game from a friend without paying a fee to play it on your system. Xbox one is Xbox DONE.

This pretty well sums up my feelings.

While the new features are interesting, they showed two (three*) games, with only one being a new IP.

Between the emphasis on TV/media streaming and the motion controls, focus on gaming just wasn't there. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I really don't mind having to use a remote, or to switch between a cable box and my console.

As of right now, I'm more interested in the PS4, but we'll see what E3 brings.

I think after seeing this, I'll just stick to PC gaming and mods to make my current games more enjoyable.

The only possible way I can see this doing okay is if they lower the cost of the license for older games. If Micro$oft expects me to pay $60 for Halo 5, when Halo 6 is out, yeah, thanks but no thanks. On top of that, you have to install the game, so it's essentially a PC game, and they'll probably force you to upgrade that tiny 500GB hard drive with their whopping 5TB one, for an extra $350 of course (just making up numbers, but judging from how expensive 360 HDD's are, I'm probably not too far off).

I still plan to get the PS4 and I'm hoping once Xbox one is released the price on the 360's will drop since mine has been broken for a while now.

Microsoft is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned until I see some real games. Also, even if they do show some good games, if they really add a fee to play used/borrowed/rented games it is an instant deal breaker for me

When I look at the Xbox One (oh my god I can't believe you guys called it that )

It makes me pray that at least initially, sony beats the crap out of them. I love the gaming industry dearly, but I feel like more and more it is being hi-jacked by corporations that want to treat it as a gimmick and not something that should be a stand alone respected thing.

Having watched the event, it is painfully obvious that Microsoft fully intends to go that route. They are a smart business and they know who they want to target. In that meeting, a debuting meeting mind you, it was clear they were not really targeting gaming.

Anyone who is telling themselves otherwise is fooling themselves. Also I wouldn't hold much water in the "15 exclusives." Those exclusives could be more kinect and children art book crap for all we know. It just seemed underhanded to me, especially since they didn't even bother to preview those "exclusives," not even a little. Its like how many video game studios promise "content" when its all smoke and mirrors in the end.

Nope, I'll be going PS4. Since I got my PS3 three years ago my 360 has been sitting dormant anyway.

i dont really see why everyone making such a big fuss over MS not showing the ones gaming side. As the E3 is only a few weeks away, so why spill all the info now? If anything, yesterday show case was the best time for MS to talk about the ones other function, no? As im sure everyone would of loved to hear all the gaming qualitys yesterday and save all the tv functions for E3.

At least we got to see the one, sonys show case back in feb we only got to see a contoller "great". Ah my bad, sony did release a short video on sunday with the ps4 in it, well they say it is, bit hard to see with it being blurred out.

The only cons I see so far, is the one lacks on power compared to the ps4. could say 360 games not working is one, but isnt that the same with the ps4 too? Also i see why their putting a fee on second hand games, more surprised other haven't with what been happening. I just say THQ, to see if anyine gets my point

PS4 will sell more.
And that's coming from me who don't want a PS4, it's not appealing to me.
I'll be sticking with PS2 and PS3 a while longer :P
I will most likely buy a PS4 at some point, becaus of the exclusives. I want to continue Uncharted, Killzone and the others.

Why that name, Xbox One?
(Big picture)

Some videos on it:

AngryJoe's thoughts on it:

Also, Sony's stocks jumped up 8% when MS revealed it :P

You have to have internet connection too, you have to be online once a day:

I was hoping that this new Xbox would appeal to me, but it doesn't at all.

Stocks always fluctuate after major announcements, Sony stocks went down after the the PS4 reveal. And MS hasnt confirmed/denied anything about always online once a day or the charge on used games. I think they had certain people leak this info to gauge the reaction and go from there.

I thought they did a good job of introducing the console to us. The controller looks great, and the snap feature will change the way I use my console. And I even liked the design of it. It's like a big suitcase! And 8 brand new franchises is exciting stuff! Now we just a few weeks for E3 when they'll show us the games in more detail.

It's a great time to be a gamer.
