The issues I have with the XBO have been said better than I could've put it. What fucks with me is that the Kinect is required for the console to work. Seeing that guy literally tell his Xbox what to do was fucked up. I didn't even think it was a neat feature on paper. I'm fine just using the controller to navigate. I'm not a fan of the Kinect, and obviously never bought it. Having a console that forces you to operate it by flailing and talking to it is messed up. What if someone came into the kid's room and said "Ok Jimmy, time to turn your Xbox off!" I figured the fucking thing would shut down.

I haven't even mentioned my thoughts on why the Kinect must be connected and enabled at all times. So there's M$ saying "Bitch, we own your living room (cause according to them, that's where everyone plays their games), we own your privacy and we're watching you."

"By gamers, for gamers!" Right, right... Just like "we respect your privacy." They must have accidentally read Sony's notes instead.

Society is fucked as it is, people texting each other, even from from 10 feet away and now, talking to machines...

I'm not really pissed about it as I was never going to buy it anyway. If I buy any more consoles, it'll be the PS4.

Reminds me of the first XBOX. Not One the original Xbox box.
I'll stick to PS4 when it is released.
XBOX One seems to be more like windows mobile phone, now without a contract.

Let's review.

Xbox ONE features:

- There will be a used game fee implemented

- It is impossible to bring your game over to your friend's house, unless you stay signed into your own account (if they want to play under their account, they pay full retail price)

- The system must be online AT LEAST once every 24 hours to function

- All games must be installed, making your discs effectively useless (and, coupled with the former list item, makes DRM a virtual certainty)

- The hard drive is 500 GB, of which a significant portion is dedicated to the three operating systems. It also cannot be swapped (I fully expect you'll see proprietary Microsoft externals in the future)

- Kinect must be attached at all times

- The mic is always on

- The Live TV functions will only be available to US residents at launch

- It is not backwards compatible. While the PS4 isn't either, Sony has Gaikai, which will allow the streaming of older generation Playstation titles for the PS4. Microsoft has no such plans

- 3 of their 8GB of RAM is dedicated to non-gaming multitasking issues

- Unlike Sony and Nintendo, Indie developers still can't self publish for their system, and must continue to jump through hoops.

- You cannot use your own headsets. Microsoft has implemented a proprietary input, rendering all other headsets useless. I'm sure they'll be willing to sell you one though.

And so on, and so on. All of the above have been confirmed by Microsoft execs and I can point anyone to the statements if they feel like arguing :p

So yeah, provided PS4 just doesn't do that shit, I'd say they have it in the bag.

I always want to see the sources for potentially controversial statements.
Specifically these:

Though the reveal certainly was rather sad.

Turtle Beach will be making headsets for Xbox One, expect 3 OS to take up 10-15gb on the HD at most and MS have already confirmed you will be able to attach an external HD onto it, and lets not forget the terrible news that it will have 15 exclusive in its first year

Here is the truth about the xbox one, no matter what you think or believe.

It feels like the newer generation of consoles are giving less and less reasons to actually own them, outside of gimmicky peripherals, first party games and a handful of exclusives. Many third party developers these days are developing multi-platform and for PC these days, and it's just feeling more and more convenient to buy games on PC (and cheaper too, considering how crazy inexpensive the sales on Steam are). The only consoles that are keeping my attention nowadays are handhelds, but I think with the growth of smart phone and tablet gaming even those platforms will start looking less attractive.

We can make an informed decision after E3, until then I guess we have to rely on fanboy drivel like that video.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Mic always on, camera too? Needs to connect ever 24 hours? They're going to need some AMAZING content. That, or losen their grip

They haven't confirmed always on every 24 hours, they put that out there to gauge the reaction first, but if they do go ahead with it you can bet Sony will have something similar and Kinect can be turned off in the menu.

I'll be getting the PS4 and passing on the Xbox One. The xbox reveal was a joke. I watched it to see games, and their was not very many of them. At least Sony showed games. I could care less about watching tv through a console. I buy consoles for games. With Sony I know I will get games. And a lot of them.

You know what, play on a PC :D
but i've heard a million complaints on Xbox One from my friends and i guess it was a bit disappointing
But then again, as for now, i'm deeply mad at sony for their 'jigsaw puzzle' reveal of the PS4 and the TROLL PS4 conference which only revealed the controller.

I saw both the PS4's and the XB1's reveals and were pretty underwhelmed by both, I personally am going to take the money I would pay for a console with and buy upgrades for my computer when I need them. Handhelds and PC are enough to keep me entertained to the point of not needing a new console, at the very least not until 3-4 years into its lifespan.
