"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it’s called Xbox 360”

That's just a smug, smart-ass response.

"This is a big change, consumers don't always love change, and there's a lot of education we have to provide to make sure that people understand."

This is the extremely diplomatic way Microsoft Xbox Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Yusuf Mehdi spun his reaction to the PR challenges surrounding the Xbox One of late.

Wow....of all the arrogance

We need to be educated into accepting an intrusive system that tells us what we are allowed to do with our property

here I though after this last week Microsoft might actually be sitting back and rethinking things and instead they come out with this as their response.

Screw you, ya SoB

You see this?

The green ones are the regions that are supported by the Xbone servers. The grey ones can't play it because of online authentication bullcrap. In other words the console can only be played in 21 countries, provided if you have the internet 24 hours a day and your connection to their servers isn't poor.

Also no Poland so screw that, im not even given the choice to buy it.

I guess Microsoft is banking on thier dedicated fanbase keeping them afloat for awhile until they actually see no sales?

I know at least one person at my work who's gonna buy the Xbone.

What's more funny is that Japan isn't supported (at least until 2014 if the rumors are true)

If it's not going to be available in launch then they are going to lose some customers to the PS4. I just don't get microsoft with this policy.

I just don't understand their approach. The first thing that I would have done was to ask my fanbase what they wanted to see out of a next-gen console. Got a bunch of ideas together and created a device that is capable of doing what the costumers want. This way I don't have to convince people to buy it, and it does what they wanted. When talking to my friends about what they wanted to see from a next-gen not a single person said an overpriced cable box. On top of that we now have two microsoft employees that have lashed out at the public concerning the product. We have the "deal with it" guy and now the "we already made a device for you" guy. Do they honestly just think that they can treat their fanbase like this and still get the results they hoped for?

I really do not know. Many people have decided to ignore Microsoft's next console. I personally feel that Microsoft is not playing the "console war" but instead doing something different. What this is though, I am not fully certain. What I do know is that they are fast losing the little bit of video gaming respect I had for them.

I was already going to get a PS4 first and i was going to get an Xbox One later on, but their policies have made it so i dont even want to touch their system. I know there changing their minds on some of their policies now, but whats stopping them from implementing them later after they sold enough consoles.
