Hands down my favorite action/romance is RAVE MASTER.

"The Continent of Song is in chaos. The sinister secret society known as Demon Card is using the power of Dark Bring to destroy everything in their path. The only things capable of stopping Dark Bring are the Rave stones. Unfortunately, the Rave Stones were scattered around the globe in an explosion 50 years ago, so now they must be collected by the Rave Master in order to stop Dark Bring once and for all. This new task has been given to Haru Glory; a sixteen-year-old boy from Garage Island. The World's fate now rests on the new, young Rave Master." -Mangafox

I like Mashima's works too, even though the ecchi is way over the top.

I'd have to say my favorite with obvious romance would be The World God Only Knows lol wait does that even count...

I also really liked Gokusen, though there romance is only slightly there. The heroine is just freakin' awesome, she keeps saving the guys lol.

Inu Yasha for me. While there are manga with action and romance I like more, they are alot of one and very little of the other.

Inu Yasha was just a fun story. The fights with demons were always great, with many of the demons being unique and watching the relationship between Kagome and InuYasha grow was great.

Kamisama Hajimemashita.

I love the Romance and Action within each Chapter.
It puts you in such a position you just wanna read more.
Then you hate yourself ,because then you've got to wait for the next Chapter.

A lot of the good action/romance i've been finding are from light novels rather than manga. Such as Shakugan no Shana, Hidan no Aria, Sword Art Online and Accel World.

From manga though, I find Inuyasha and Blast of Tempest are good titles that combine the two genres. Inuyasha was good at balancing the action with the romance without going overboard with melodrama. At least in my opinion it isn't too dramatic. Blast of Tempest was especially heavy with suspense. It had a tale of lost love mixing into a world crisis that involved action, logic, and magic. Though I suggest you familiarize yourself with the whole story surrounding the Tempest and Hamlet or you may not understand the quoting. Good thing I read them in English class back in high school.

Inuyasha is the only true action romance I can think of. The others tend to have one or the other towards the end while Inuyasha has had both from the very start.

Sword art online starts off as purely action, but proves it is also romance.

I think bleach has it to an extent, though sadly it hasn't truly become a romance and it probably won't show it fully till towards the end of the manga! I say bleach purely because of certain characters' affections blatantly showing despite not openly saying it!

I agree with others that InuYasha is probably the most well-balanced. It has excellent art, storytelling and character design not to mention that Rumiko Takahashi also has a great comedic touch to make the series really charming.
