I'm pretty sure that more than half of us here have thought about making our own manga's. So here's just a couple questions.
Have you thought about making your own manga.
I have. i even started it, but school got in the way and I couldnt keep with it. Also, I'm not the best drawer, so I had to spend a lot of time and effort into one page.

What type of manga would you write about?
I used to be obsessed with reading just shoujo manga's, but now I love reading action with romance, so I would def do something with action/romance. Actually any manga I would write about would involve romance haha. No ecchi. No adult :b

People make manga's outisde from just Japan, if you had the choice, would you continue to do manga from where you live or go to Japan.
I would go to Japan for sometime. i mean why not right?! lol. i don't think I would permanently live there, but it would be nice to experience it( if i was in the manga business).

I actually made a manga for a college class >.> it was pretty (really) bad. I had used suzuka and seto no hanayome as the template.

I have thought about making my own manga and/or anime.
I have the talent for drawing and I can write a decent story (if I'm in the mood).

I actually have a (unrealistic) dream of writing a story for Square Enix or any gaming company. I've always wanted to turn my story into a game.

I'd stay away from the subject of love, I mean there are countless stories about love, does the world really need any more love stories? And as someone who's never been in love, I just think it's stupid to write about something I've never experienced.

If I were to write a story, it would probably be about the difference between lower class citizens and higher class citizens or personal struggles with one's life.

Yes! I make OC's(original characters) all the time. I practice. I've been drawing all my Childhood and I've started getting serious 3 years ago.Although I favor realism. I very much love anime design and mainly drew that in school. I would create short 4 chapter manga comics of my original characters and stories in school. Like the OP. School got more and more in the way and I eventually just did concept art desgns for characters in my head. But now I realize how far behind I am as an artist-and want to improve my skills where they are lacking before I create anything my art

What type of manga would you write about?
For manga media.I grew up with DBZ,Shaman King, and Naruto. So definately I'd like to go along the lines of supernatural, action, mystery, romance, adventure, and horror. I was also influenced by video games(like Guilty Gear and Sonic,DMC)also. So I definitely always include supernatural, action and mystery.

People make manga's outside from just Japan, if you had the choice, would you continue to do manga from where you live or go to Japan.

Because of hard times(and the fact that I'm not the brightest~maybe far from).I don't want to waste my time moving and would want to make sure I'm confident in my ability b4 I move anywhere. So I'd rather stay in America. But I've made it a goal to go to Japan.Because I feel I have to.Also to study life there. Since alot of my characters and designs come from Japan.I may choose to live there later on in life.

If anyone would like to see my art you can go here:http://luciferd666.deviantart.com/
I'm not that good yet tho.

Yes i have, even have character designs in my head and loads of the story, i'm just hugely lacking as an artist T_T, i may end up making it into a game since for some reason i can make decent models and textures, but not draw them..

What type of manga would you write about?
This one is easy.. not going to say too much though... Dimensions, Science, Gods, Mutations, Souls, Elements, Weapons my series involves all of this stuff

i write stories so i've thought about it but.. i couldn't draw it. i'd need a partner in crime.

i would write a comedy, probably about a headstrong, smart chic who owns the world and somehow a guy gets involved but she doesn't care and goes on with life and saves the world from attacking burnt marshmellows or something

or a comedy about psychotic people who do crazy things

or a comedy about a war-torn world and people die

i'd probably write a gag manga

I'd definitely write it in Japan. ^^ i need an artist lol

Have you thought about making your own manga?
Response: Yes and no.

No, because there are too many westerners who try to make their own mangas. Hence, you can't distinguish one form from another.
I wanna do the opposite.

Yes, by borrowing certain effects and pace of the plot or panels.

What type of manga would you write about?
Response: Comedy, Shoujo, Adventure, Non-sense, Fantasy, Slice-of-life, Documentary

Response: The work ethic in making mangas is so admirable. Popular mangas like Naruto have to be published within a week. That's a challenge and resiliency. So yea. I would LOVE working in Japan.

I don't like working in neither Marvel nor DC. I don't like how they wedge stories within stories--destroying consistency from any characters. Not to mention, for one character, you'll find a lot of authors and a lot of artists. It's like this proverb "too many cooks spoil the broth." If too many people try to take charge at a task, the end product might be ruined.

Have you thought about making your own manga?

Yes but not seriously. I tend to think of things visually so if I was to do a story it would have to be either in comic/manga or movie form because I'm not good at putting those visuals into words (I can do dialog, but describing a setting or someone facial expressions is not something I am not good at). The only problem with the whole manga things is that I can't draw so if I ever did do one I would have to find an artist that I could work well with (which would also be a challenge, as I can get really controlling over my work).

What type of manga would you write about?

I have a lot of story ideas that I have developed over the years most would fall into the Shonen/Seinen categories.

People make manga's outside from just Japan, if you had the choice, would you continue to do manga from where you live or go to Japan?

I would want to stay where I am, but if I had to move to Japan I wouldn't complain.

I'm a writer, a novelist. I think I could do pretty well from a story perspective, but I'm not great at drawing. I injured my wrist pretty bad when I was younger due to a tennis accident.

I think I would get tired of drawing mediocre characters so I'd need someone to do that for me. Writing the story though would be pretty fun.

Go to Japan? I've always wanted to go, but I don't think I would really need to be there to write.

I've always been good at the writing aspect of it, so I could come up with a fairly good story. But I am not too good of an artist. I could maybe draw backgrounds, but honestly I'd need some help in this department.

I'd probably make the plot a bit dark, dealing with one's personal demons and maybe an anti-hero. Those have always been my favorite types of anime: dark, thought-provoking plots.

I've always wanted to go to Japan and someday I am. Before I would move anywhere though, I'd have to make sure it's a sure thing, unless I had enough money to.

yes but I am a terrible drawer but I guess that could be the charm of the manga that I draw xD

What type of manga would you write about?
I don't know like people fighting and doing' stuff and stuff (I am very imaginative!)

I've been writing all my life, on the side, just not in school for stuff. I've always been above average when it comes to that stuff, or at least that's what I'm told of people who've read my work. I'm a huge fan of romance manga, anime, or anything really...

I just can't draw to save my life, can't draw anything, not even the simplest things. My wife is an amazing drawer, I told her to learn how to draw manga stuff but she doesn't like it as much so my dreams died slowly :[

What type of manga would you write about?
Definitely a romance of some kind, I've wrote some stuff for a lot of different genre's over my whole life so it would be hard...but probably romance.

I'd move to Japan even if I wasn't making manga. I'd do anything to live there, saving money as we speak!

I have thought about it. i even thought out an entire 473 episode series (i thought about it as if it were an anime, though). That was when I was younger, so it was really shounen jump- ish. It was deeper than the Shounen, though. Lately, though, I have been thinking of one that is more on the "cool' side, though I might throw in a love interest. I would live in Japan because I do not draw very well at all, so I would need as much time as I could to draw. It also would be helpful to be more surrounded by the language I would be writing in.

Hmm... Personally, I'd love to draw anime, and create a story with my personal OCs, but my consistency and the bodies of my chara just don't match up... i can draw 2D pics, but I still have trouble with my shadows, lighting, etc.
If I could, I would go to Japan. But I don't think that I have to go there for anything. To go there and to be able to ask/recieve advice would be a huge privilige.

I've thought about it for long periods of time. Sometimes if a good idea popped up, I'd sketch how some of the characters would look. I usually don't do series of the same OCs with an actual plot, but it's happened before.

When I made some (and personally I wouldn't consider them manga, but just my drawings with a plot, but oh well) such as the longest one I've done "For Lack of a Better Name", they always have some type of fantasy in it. Cat girls, werewolves, gods and goddesses of emotions, things like that. And I love comedy, so most of them don't go one page without at least a hint of silliness. n.n Plus, I love the romance, and comedy + romance = laughter for ages. XD I just add some random mystical creatures, and boom, it has a plot.

If I were to take my art more seriously, I'd go to Japan for some time, not my whole life, but a couple years to get the feel of things and have more experience to take back home. The scenery in Japan is very wonderful, and I sometimes use those as the backgrounds. I know they don't come out as they are, so it would be nice to sketch those out and get comfortable with that! X3 All in all, I'd want to stay where I am, and commit at least half the day to it!
