I was born in 87 so I'm more a 90's child even though I adore the 80's movies and music :/ I do miss decent cartoon shows like Captain Planet, Ducktales, Talespin, SuperTed, the older Scooby Doo shows etc.

Ah my youth <3

I was a child(93). I didn't really pay attention to the era. I sill don't.

I will credit the 90's for incredible music. But if you look thoroughly enough. There is music in this age that is just as or even more amazing. The most influencial music I have comes from this era.And knowing Japanese opens my mind to asian music as well.

But as for enjoying it. I wouldn't know.

I love the 90's and all the Ska music it produced. Goldfinger and superman was like my high school anthem.

90's... Batman the Animated series, Batman and Superman, Justice League...Powerpuff girls, Johnny Bravo, Ghost in The Shell, FLCL, Cowboy Bebop Appleseed, Berserk, Neon Genesis Evangelion...We certainly had the best animation run. Couldn't say the same for the music...

The kids of 2000 think SAO is good Anime....

If that's the truth you gotta admire kids being able to put up with subtitles as well as trying to watch a show

So it's not only a bad anime but a celebration of mediocre achievements? Congratulations, you kids can read...

But seriously, I've always loved subtitles. you lose a great deal of the more subtle cultural references in the dubbing.

I have a number of adult friends who watch anime dubbed because they don't want to "read a show" rather than watch it, so why would kids want to do that - that's where I draw my reference from. And yeah I completely agree with you on the missing out of cultural references; But then again, you have to actually be into the culture to understand what you're missing.

Most 90's kids haven't hit their 30's yet and they already sound like old men rambling about the 'good old days'. And by good old days they mean inferior technology, shitty trading cards, ugly ass clothes (jelly sandals, c'mon people) and cartoons. You could at least wait til you get wrinkles before reminiscing.

If you sat down and watched Dexter's lab for the first time as you are now you'd probably think it was shite because you're no longer a child and the only reason you probably still like it now is due to a hefty dose of nostalgia. Courage the cowardly dog used to be my favourite show but I watched it the other day for the first time in years and I couldn't believe how awful it was.

90's yes! Gundam Wing, Semi-censored Tenchi-Muyo! , MC hammer, Vanillia Ice... Wait a sec. I just realized the 90's was the start of artists sampling off of other people's music. =( OH! ninja turtles 1 and 2 were awesome even though it had vanilla ice in the 2nd move.
