Heyo! So, the song "New Slaves" by Kanye West, have you heard it?
If not then here --> New Slaves by Kanye West Hahaha.

Anyway, if you don't like the song, mute it, don't listen to it, or go to a different topic. All I really want you to hear are the lyrics of the song. I made a page about it, right here, and that's my opinion on the song and some of it's lyrics. Since the comments on the videos were of no help for other people's thoughts, why not ask here? o3o Try not to be like those YouTubers that posted those...comments on the video.

Kanye showed this song all over the place as the premiere to his new album, YEEZUS in a different way than I've seen before. He was also on SNL not too long ago and played this song and "Black Skinhead". If you want to see the places he aired at, just look it up. They're not all good quality, and there's not an actual music video, but oh well.

Just say your opinion on the lyrics of the song, feel free to quote anyone else's opinions (keep it nice). Pretty easy, yah? Don't stray off-topic, people may have things to say about this song, so don't take that away from them. v.v

I actually like Kanye West and his music. I have most of his songs on my MP3, especially Graduation, I liked that CD. Contrary to what other's think, he is talented, an asshole, but talented. There’s also something about his personality that I like. He’s hated, yet he just literally brushes it off and continues to do whatever the hell he wants, changing for no one. I think that kind of confidence (or narcissism) is something to be envied in a way. I also love how upset people get over him, but that’s just me.

Anyway about the song, now that I’m actually reading the lyrics I think I understand what he’s saying. Like you said in your article, there are so many multiple meanings, yet I think the main theme is him speaking about how we are all slaves to consumerism and our own greed.

Legendary song.

Kanye + Jesus = YEEZUS

Iconic. Innovative. Revolutionary.
He's coming for those Grammy awards.

Preach it.
Godye West stays unbothered with his amazing music.

I dont understand it he raps like his life is just so hard and diffecult when he has one of the hottest people as his girlfriend he's known all over the world he has millions. is he talking about the black race as a whole? or about himself and his past experiences? to be honest i dont like him or any present rap artist save a few its all the same noise drugs, woman, how awesome they are,how much money they have or who their homeboys are. now i wont make this post about ranting but to be honest i dont really understand it or what his reason behind making it was.

^ Meh.

I guess I could see how you see it that way. I'm sure that he's talking about himself in the beginning of the song, and then starts to see that it's not just him but everyone else "as a whole". I'm sorry that you don't like him or any other rap artists, but aside from that, Kanye's one of the few that actually brought these facts to the light, and you're just standing as someone with different tastes. You gotta close out that "all rap is about sex drugs and money" 'cause that's brainwash too, and it's not rap anymore. Look at the song as a poem that the artist is reading out loud.
