It started when I was trolling a Metroid Fan forums and Cowboy Behop kept being brought up. So I decided... what the heck.. I want to see this legendary show. Hooked ever since.... though I have been looking for another Cowboy Behop really...

Blood+ is what got me into watching anime in a serious manner. I was bored one day and decided I would look for something to watch and came across Blood+ on a stream site. It was the first show that lead me to use the internet to look for shows instead of just stumbling upon them on TV or on the store rack.

First ever anime I watched though was Akira, and that was in the mid to late 90s.

hmm toonami when I was around five years old or so, I watched it for a while but stopped because we got rid of cable when I was around 10. I got back into it a little when I was around 14 years old, once again through toonami and adult swim as well. I was a fan but not too serious about it at the time. When I was a senior in Highschool I really started to get into it, I swear I watched every anime on hulu, plenty on funimations site, and after a very long time finally started using Crunchy Roll. You just cant beat that 1080.

Even though I've watched anime shows before (like Gundam Wing, Pokemon, Digimon) it wasn't until Adult Swim got Bleach back in '07 that I really got into anime because that's when I started also watching Eureka Seven and I was absolutely hooked.

This.
And eventually other animes such as Gundam seed, naruto, one piece started coming on tv. Later on, I started watching those anime in english subbed because that's what most people recommended to me and eventually I started to watch other animes the same way.

Akira did it for me. I found it in a bus, in VHS format and had heard of it before. After that, a few series have helped me along to discovering how great they can be. A friend lent me Cowboy Bebop, which I didn't appreciate as much. Although as I watch Akira now, I am not into that style much anymore, but I've learned to discover such great anime, I still think Akira is what introduced me to this world.

I used to watch anime on TV when I was a kid. Series like Captain Tsubasa, Tiger Mask, Thunder Jet, Detective Conan, Dragon Quest Dai's Adventure among many others. When I grew up a little, I realized that those were anime a product from Japan and then I started exploring more.

More years back than I care to share, basic late night cable in the US, TBS I think, showed Robot Carnival and Vampire Hunter D back to back. It was like 2AM. At 5 AM, I was like "what the heck did I just see." Been hooked ever since. If no one has ever watched 'Presence' on Robot Carnival, you owe yourself to see it. You can find it on YouTube.

Toonami period. Having shown Hamtaro which was my very first anime period and just everything stringed along. I always loved Adult Swim and they always had anime on there. CowBoy Bebop,Big O, Witch Hunter Robin,FullMetal Alchemist,InuYasha, FLCL and more. I had no idea what was anime or that these show even were anime. I just watched them all.

AND the anime that Toonami had on during the day. YuYuHakusho,DragonBall series,Naruto,Rave Master, MAR, Prince Of Tenis,IGPX

Saturday Morning is another example. The FOX Box had a lot of anime I would watch such as Shaman King,One Piece,Fighting Foodons,Medabots and Ultimate Muscle

DAMN I watched a shitload of anime when I was a kid.

Naruto and Anime-Planet (the website). I started watching Naruto about 3 years ago on a streaming site (unfortunately not legally back then ), and 400 episodes later I realized I was hooked :P.

What really got me started back then though was the website anime-planet. It had synopses and ratings for anime, and really led me to watching some fantastic shows such as Clannad and Toradora. If it wasn't for a website like that I never would have been exposed to so many awesome anime's out there .

I've been watching anime since I was a child, without even knowing it was anime. Transformers, Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Astro Boy.. stuff like that. later in life I was drawn back into anime by shows like Gundam, DragonballZ, YuYu Hakusho, and the toonami block. since then, it's been a cycle of on and offs and other BS.
