I've been having people over a few times the last couple of weeks. For the most part I don't mind it. Sometimes though, it can be a bit much. Just yesterday I had a total of 11 people come and go (to visit me and hangout) throughout the day. I left for work this morning and there were 5 people still passed out at my place. If it wasn't for the fact that I was in the process of moving, it'd feel a bit less inconvenient, lol.

Only if the visitors are family members that I like, and if the people are good friends of mine; however, I'm usually a very private person, so being around alot of people for an extended period of time can be very draining.

When the host has been family and I'm just a bystander it's all good, if a little boring sometimes. However when I'm the host/organizer or something, which I have to do for the French society here at uni, it's definitely more taxing - just the way you describe. It's interesting how different a social event can be when you feel like you have to be responsible for things. Perhaps that's just me not being used to it.

I'm actually 'over' at someone's right now XD but I'd much rather be round here than them come round mine...

Depends.. so long as they warn me first, I usually don't mind, and if it's for playing games, it's a lot of fun. When I get a random knock at my door, though, that I don't care for.

I hate having people over with the exception for some family members that I've gotten used to.

My dad is a very social guy, and he used to invite people that I've never met to our house. My mom is not a very social person, and would get so mad when he did that. I hated it, too, since it feels so awkward. He rarely does it now, since he lives in Cali for the majority of the year.

My mom also gets mad when my dad invites people we do know over without telling her. When he does that, my mom gets really busy cleaning the house and preparing food. I help her out when that happens. It's very annoying when we have to do stuff like that.

I know how she feels. It's bad enough having to take care of your own family, its a pain in the ass when visitors come over giving you more crap to do not to mention entertaining & cleaning up afterwards. I'd be (I get) super pissed, but I don't think it is so bad since it is only the 3 of you and you help out <3. Although if I was your mom I wouldn't do anything at all. I'd just take you out to dinner and a movie and leave your dad home alone to cook, clean, & entertain himself since he's so inconsiderate......and don't come back until bedtime. If she does that every single time maybe he'll quit doing that.

Later on in the afternoon my family is going to come over for diner. It was my parents idea.

Thing is, I've never really liked having people over.

I love them all very much but I just can't stand when people come into my room and mess with my things. Mainly, my computer and games.

Do you like having people over?

My are you the selfish one?

I usually don't like having people over to my house. There are occasions when I'll want to invite people over, but those are few and far between. Mostly cause when I'm at home, it's "me" time, lol. I have a roommate who had a horrible habit of bringing people over without telling me before hand. I had to tell him to stop doing that after a few weeks of it happening. It's super annoying when you walk into your house after a long day of work or school and there are people in the living room you don't know, don't expect to see, and don't necessarily want to see.

Saying that though, I don't mind going over to other people's homes though, as long as I'm invited of course.

I don't like having people over because nobody interests me (around here where I live) and anything they have to say is of no interest to me. I also don't like to host/serve people, I had enough of that crap to last several lifetimes. Also, I don't dress the same at home as I do when I go out. At home I wear my "house clothes" which is usually old shorts, a big ratty t-shirt.....no shoes or socks, and never a bra (I hate them)......you know, comfortable clothes. When company comes I can't wear that stuff and I have to put on a bra. The entire time they are here I'm thinking..."Are you going yet?", "Are you going yet?", "Are you going yet?", "Are you going yet?", "Are you going yet?"......... and I look at the clock, I don't make much eye contact, and if I feel like being rude, I break out my tablet and start messing with it. My side of the conversation usually goes like this: "Uh huh, yeah, uh huh, um hum, yeah." "Oh, what?" "Oh, yeah." "Uh huh......" Then when they're finally gone I have no clue what they said to me 'cause I wasn't listening. Unfortunately they don't take the hint and keep coming over.... at least it's not so often.
