Japanese, German (I know a little), and Italian.
Japanese is really complicated and I have no hope of learning it aside from picking up a few phrases from anime and my step-dad. German I studied a bit in high school. Italian I might take classes if I go to college.

I've been teaching myself Japanese for the past year, and I have learned an incredible amount - both speaking and reading/writing. Its at the point where native-speakers don't believe the small amount of time I've been studying. I'm also taking Italian and Spanish at the state college, and I took two years of both French and German in high school. I also learned a small amount of Swahili from a friend from Tanzania. Planning to learn Chinese in the future as well. But hey, why stop there?

Native language is American English, and I've got 6 semesters each of French and Chinese under my belt from college/graduate school days. Currently learning Japanese by self-study, and can read some manga (e.g. Another, Watamote, Ika Musume etc... Muromi-san, though, remains very difficult for me). I'd like to learn German next (to speak and read/write), as well as Greek, Hebrew, and perhaps Latin (reading ability sufficient, for old manuscripts and inscriptions). Practically, given the social trends in America, Spanish would be the most useful.

Incidentally, since CR forums have such an international breadth in participants, I'll ask this here: One of these days, when my kids are old enought to appreciate it, I'd like to go to Eastern Europe for a trip, particularly to witness the Auschwitz camp location in Poland. Maybe I'll attend an opera in Germany or Vienna, Austria, and my wife, who loves ballet, would definitely want to go to Russia. If there exists one language one could learn that is most widely applicable in these parts of Europe, what might that be? Any natives of those parts or others familiar with that area of the world have an opinion? Thanks.

I'm taking Arabic next year.

Dunno if that language will get me sent to Afghanistan or somewhere in the Middle East, but that's my choice.

I have two other choices that I could replace it with, Russian and Chinese, but I'll try Arabic first.

Heard the Arabic course that they teach here is super difficult..

I would love to learn all world languages.

I've studied Latin and Japanese and self-studied Korean, but Latin is probably the strongest language I've come to understand because the course I took for it was rather vigorous and I've continued to use Latin (haha, such a uselessly dead language). I was born and raised learning Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English; so those I do have well comprehension skills in.

It would be a dream come true to be able to learn all the different languages and dialects. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to converse with anyone without the limitation of language? That is the reason why I love mathematics, there are no language barriers ^^

I actually want to learn Korean and Japanese. Maybe for the fun of it, but i;m sure ill find other uses for it to. like watching shows and programs, instead of waiting for the subs on some websites i can watch it raw and still understand.

My native language is English, but i also speak Lao.
