This I can agree with wholeheartedly, though I haven't played the VN so I'm only guessing that it's better.

It's basically the same as the anime, though with more satisfying endings and way more sexy stuff shown. Basically a typical eroge novel, but it is fully animated, so there's that.

It's the "more satisfying endings" part which has piqued my interest in purchasing the game. The fact that it's fully animated is also very exciting. I've seen visual novels with some animated scenes, but this would be the first I've ever encountered which is animated throughout.

You can't go with more ways to kill Makoto. You can also make him less douchey with your choices, It was definitely worth my money from the HQ version.

Meh, I blame Sekai for just seducing him. Sure, he could've said no, and hopefully anyone would say no in his shoes, but once this was going on an NTR kinda route, Kotonoha being the one taken away, I started to hate Sekai. Over time, I still was baffled at how Makoto was throughout the anime, but as time went on, I started hating the girls that threw themselves at him. Even my favorite girl Setsuna was getting on my nerves.

Most of those girls knew what was happening to Makoto in one way or another, and they pretty much made things worse for him intentionally, all just focusing on sex. Even after all that happened, I still was surprised to see Kotonoha taking him back after his wrong doings. He really doesn't deserve her, but I was happy things were kinda back to normal...until the rest of episode 12 happened....even after that ending, I still felt sorry for Kotonoha, all the events just lead her into a downward spiral, and all because of NTR :c

Sure Makoto is to blame at points, but Sekai caused all of this to happen. From manipulating Kotonoha and seducing Makoto, I just really despise her. Even after Sekai, I'd say all the other girls besides Kotonoha were even worse than Makoto for causing even more problems and throwing their bodies at him like nothing.

Exactly! Why can't more people see this!

No character in the history of anime made me feel so much hate. Left up to me, I would burn him to an upside down cross.

Hate? Hardly. I pitied him.
He makes the mistake of choosing lust over love. Then, we watch his descent as this repeated choice turns him into an apathetic shell of a human.
Finally, when the moment of his absolution appears to be at hand, he meets his fate in a manner the great bard would be proud of.
Truly a great tragedy.

That's because there is evidence which supports the perspective that Itou was the sort of person to go seeking casual sexual relationships with whoever might be offering one without any regard for his existing relationships all along. His downward spiral was, from that perspective, primarily self-inflicted.

What would you say his moment of absolution might have been? He seemed doomed more or less the whole time to me.

I felt that, at the end, he was sincerely remorseful and wanted to be the boyfriend he should have been from the beginning.

I think I know which scene you mean, then. I took that a lot more cynically, believing he was simply chasing his last viable option for getting what he wanted. But that's the nice thing about stories, there's more than one way to look at them.

I am a bit jealous of him, but I wouldn't be that much of a dickhead to all those girls if I was in his situation

He gets on my nerves, of course.

But character-wise, he is the kind of character I like to watch in an anime. I like characters that have depth, and makoto is just that.

Makoto is da man! He is what any guy would do in his situation. It's sad but you can't deny it. I also read somewhere that his name means truth which kind of backs my previous point up

I'm not sure I hate Makoto, but he is an asshole. He pretty much fucked over everyone he cared about simply because he wanted to wet his dick. He played a dangerous game and payed the price (watching his little prick ass get stabbed to death was hilarious though). I do have to commend him on that 4-way though, that was pretty impressive for a high school student. I can honestly say I'm not jealous of him, he ended up a severed head who died for something as petty as his libido.
