Slice of life series. I don't think there's been a slice of life series I haven't enjoyed. They're so funny and calming ^.^

I'm also a HUGE fan of romances, but only the ones that meet the following criteria:
1). The male character has no more than 2 serious love interests.
2). The male character has a genuinely interesting personality.
3). Fanservice is kept modest and used only as necessary or relevant for a comedic break.

Examples of series I love from both genres are Hidamari Sketch and Kimi ni Todoke respectively. But i watch virtually every genre if the plot or characters are interesting enough.

I'm a sucker for anything and everything shounen. If it runs in jump, and its not medeka box [insert other shitty title] I'll watch it

I'm not really picky with my genres, tho'

I wouldn't say so.

I am definitely drawn AWAY from a genre

I can't bear watch any 'battle school' anime/manga. A magical world devoid of adults where middle schoolers/high schoolers punch people flying or get thrown through several walls and only wind up with scratched clothing.... and combined with the next thing I hate very much, ala Ikki Tousen.

Fanservice. If I wanted to see risque animated women I'd watch something that starts with an H. Since I don't, I have no interest in pantyshots, repeated groping, or anything of the like(Which unfortunately half the anime released in any given season falls into this category)

Crappy romances. I don't SQUEEE or really care about pairings, but I do find how authors portray something as complex as relationships interesting. Basically I'd watch a romance if its well done. I don
t like watching two fools, who can't confess until the last episode and therefore the author doesn't have to use any brain power actually writing anything creative. or romances that make no sense.

Gag anime. I have a particular sense of humor. Light humor or easy comedy reaches me like outstreching my hand could reach the sun. Very few can get laughs from me.

I am. If it has fanservice in it, I will watch it. UNLESS:

- The fanservice is terrible
- The characters are so awful they make the show unattractive
- The show is utterly boring outside of fanservice
- The proportions are unrealistic (didn't finish Eikan/struggled with Manyuu Hikenchou and Seikon no Qwaser)

What about y'all?

For me, I like to avoid anime with fanservice.

My favorite genre has to be slice-of-life though.

yeah, ones with actual plot and character development lol yeah those are hard to find...

Specifically for anime I like action and adventure a lot. Oh and comedy. I'm always drawn to comedy.

this is what I LOVE about SAO. Kirito and Asuna hook up at pretty much the beginning of the series. well, of the novels, at least.

I'm able to enjoy any genre, if you look at my reviews, there is a diverse selection of animes from all kinds of genre.

But I'm really drawn to fantasy/magic/sci-fi. If they add even a little component to it, I'll be enthusiastic about the show and will watch it until I drop dead on my bed.
I like unrealistic settings, but I prefer realistic characters.

Mmmm, not drama.

I always think I'll like slice-of-life shows more than I actually do, and yet I keep trying them over and over, so you could say I'm drawn towards those.

I like fantasy, action, and light-hearted rom-coms. I'm pretty easy to please lol, so for a specific genre (or demographic) you can just say shounen

I also really like stuff that gets weird and deranged, but without getting overly pessimistic. That's kind if a thin line to balance on, so I don't take too many chances there, but I'm planning on trying a few later.

That I have a varied list of genre's I like. I usually though look at a season's chart and look at what "story" sounds interesting or has a chance to develop. Then usually I get recommendations from friends/family to look at others I may have missed through that process.
