Stuttering, buffering, complete stopping. is paying for the service of high quality anime really worth it? I can't get through an episode with out one or all of those things happening. It's annoying. Yes i have been through the whole routine of "Trying to fix it" which is crap by the way. I love the website, i really do. It's professionally made, I love the way the episodes and shows are set-up. But whats the point if I cannot watch them?

If you have a good computer and stable internet it's not really a problem. But to answer your question, yes. Once you go high quality, you can't go back.

I have a "good" computer but some times will experience the same as the OP, even with my good internet connection. So I just avoid watching on the computer now
If you have a Roku, it makes things so much more enjoyable. Sure, it's not HQ, but it looks just fine to me
I don't think HQ is worth the computer lag~

I'm using a full membership on an iPad mini 3G and I can still get through with no lag. It's brilliant and totally worth it.

This is a good post. I say yes, Premium worths it but it would be awesome if CR upgraded to a better encoder/decoder format that made it possible to watch the series without problems in any mode desired. I.e. when I steal internet (there are hard months you know but I still pay Premium CR ) my Xbox360 and iPod t5 have issues with laggy connection but Netflix works great. Heck even at work where we share connections with 300+ devices every freaking day, Netflix works flawless even if my co workers are playing a MOBA on PVP.
The tech is there, CR just needs to get a license for us to be super happy. That and full access for my country too. It actually sucks paying Premium and not having all the actual shows (that's why I decided to change my service from FA to AO).

In a nutshell, YES!

High Quality and HD on Crunchy Roll is more than worth it in my opinion. At my home I can watch pretty much anything at 1080p or at the least 720p if it's peak hours in my area; it's glorious. In my mind, you can see a bigger more immediate difference in watching anime in HD than you can live action in HD, compared to SD.

Only problem I have ever had is playing shows on my phone, which is something I rarely do anyways. I have yet to get through a full show without getting an error message. Forces me to restart and skip to where the error occurred for me, only to have it happen again approximately 5 minutes later again. I'm on a 4G network, but pretty sure it's due to my area.

In short, sounds like your issue is something that is out of CR's hands. If you cannot get better internet/computer, don't subscribe. Like you said there's no point unless you want to support the website bringing all these shows to us.

Maybe when there are more people online or more people streaming it slows down.

Seems like a problem with ebb and the flow of things.

Is the service worth it? Considering that this is the very few legal Anime sites and that other ones kinda blows in comparison in terms of service and such, $7 is easy and not too bad for niche content. Though, I will agree with some posts that this site needs a lot more work.

I like how some people here keep finding excuses to justify the irregular streaming issues.

Some people at some locations somewhere in the world are sometimes having some stuttering issues. Or sometimes even a full stop in the video because the stream just completely cuts out (install NetworX, a bandwidth monitor, so you can tell).

Whether I pay $1 or $100 for a service, I expect it to work as advertised.
Streaming up to 1 MByte/s for 720p and 1080p content isn't a huge order to fill. 10 to 20 Mbit a user should be sufficient.

This is an ongoing issue. The topics on this issue are being locked. Just like this one will.

Good day.

Not going to lock the topic.
The only reason I close and lock topics is because there is no current way to follow threads.
This means effectively troubleshooting via the forums is a lot more difficult than it should be.
I also respond to all emails first, then come look at the forums.
Hence why I ask people to email us and lock the topic.

I apologize if I've offended you by my support flow.

The next time you have these problems, can you do the following and email it to us using the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page?

Follow these 2 links, run each test separately, press the 'Copy Direct Link' button and link us to the results.
http://www.speedtest.net/
http://www.pingtest.net/
Follow the instructions below to run some further network connection tests for us.
(Instructions for computers with Windows Installed)
Click the Start button and then click on Run (or Window+R).
In the Run window, type "cmd" without quotation marks and press Enter/OK.
When the black Command Prompt opens, type in "nslookup cp150757.edgefcs.net" without the quotation marks and press Enter.
Type "ping cp150757.edgefcs.net" without the quotation marks and press Enter.
Type "tracert cp150757.edgefcs.net" without the quotation marks and press Enter.
When those commands are done, right click anywhere in the command prompt, click Select All and press Enter to copy the text. Then paste it in a reply to this message and I\'ll check it out.

Certainly not.

However, I do wish to remark that locking a topic on this particular issue forces a new topic to be opened. Which, for me as a user, appears like you do not want to continue discussing the issue.

Perhaps my perspective is overly cynical. In which case I apologize.

Not at all.
We're actually doing some behind the scenes work on reformatting the 'Help' section of the forums which will make it a lot easier to keep track of things. Right now, the lock is just a visual cue for me to see if I have helped someone.
