I don't know (I don't think) if I have an accent. I've moved around quite a bit growing up. When I was little and spoke Spanglish I probably did, but I've forgotten it all a very long time ago. I think I have a plain Northern American accent now, although I can do a strong Southern accent on demand from living so long in the South. People have told me that they like my parent's strong Spanish accent....I'm like, "What accent?"

Anyway, much to my annoyance & amusement, when I answer the phone I frequently get asked, "May I speak to your mommy?" or "May I speak to to the lady of the house?" Usually, I correct them and tell them that I'm an adult/the lady of the house, but if it's a solicitor I tell them my mommy's not home and ask them if they want to talk to the babysitter. (which they never do) I've heard my phone-recorded voice, I do sound like a sweet little girl, which is odd because face to face my voice is rather deep compared to other females. My voice is very versatile, I can make my voice low enough to sound like a man. I do that sometimes to play phone pranks on family.

That's interesting. I wish I could sound like that though, anything would be an improvement over my voice now. c:

I'm from Yorkshire, England and I have a Yorkshire accent. It's been toned down a lot now after going to university and travelling (as no one outside of Yorkshire understands the Yorkshire accent ), I was bored and recorded the YouTube accent tag words.

The words are:

Aunt, Roof, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught, Naturally, Aluminium, Envelope

your accent definitely is toned down as you said, the first few words sounded pretty neutral then it started coming through a little bit.
I have a London accent, the more neutral kind rather than cockney or anything.

I have an Asian accent, even though I lived in Sydney for over 10 years. From a young age, I spoke my mother tongue with my family a lot, so that stayed as my native language. English will always be my second language.

I'm from Staffordshire in the UK. but I don't have a Brummie (Birmingham) accent. I'm from a town called Tamworth and the local accent is called Yam Yam apparently. Don't ask me why. when my brother moved to Stone that's what they called his accent.

I thought I was the only one who used Vocaroo.

Location is under the username. People tell me that I have an Southern accent, but I don't think I do. When I hear recordings of myself, I think I sound like a nasal boy because of my allergies. I want to some more feminine, but nothing I can do for now.

You be the judge

Definitely Southern, reminds me of the accent of a boss lady that I had for a while that was from New Orleans.

Brooklyn Accent
Seriously?? haha, is that even possible for people in their 20s.

Of course it is possible if they grew up in Brooklyn and their grandparents (who they lived with) had that accent as well. I see you are from New York (the City?) so it would be fair to say that it is a "New York" accent haha

I'm from brooklyn, I still am. I was asking because I thought that accent would have fade after constantly being around social setting where people spoke without the accent: school, tv

I've never encountered anyone in their youth having Brooklyn accents. never in my high school. The closest I've ever gotten to brooklyn accents were my teachers, and they were fairly................aged?
